Kibale Lodge is perched on a ridge, offering breathtaking vistas of the Rwenzori Mountains to the west and the Queen Elizabeth plains along with the Kazinga Channel to the south.
Children under 15 are not allowed to participate in chimpanzee tracking. While children are welcome at the lodge, there are no childcare facilities available.
The lodge offers eight distinct handcrafted luxury bandas (six deluxe and two standard). Currently, four bandas are available, with an additional four set to open by the end of 2024.
Each banda features a private terrace with views of either the Rwenzori Mountains or the scenic hills around Fort Portal. All bandas are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, including flushing toilets, double vanities, and both indoor and outdoor showers with hot and cold running water.
Guests enjoy personal butler service throughout their stay. The Kibale Forest Spa features two double massage rooms, a sauna, and a swimming pool. All massages are complimentary, subject to booking and availability.
Full-board accommodations are provided, along with all soft drinks and regular and premium alcoholic beverages, including signature cocktails, single malt whiskeys, and select cellar wines (excluding French champagne). A complimentary laundry service is also available. Rooms are equipped with power outlets, charging facilities, hairdryers, and fans (though air conditioning is not provided). Wi-Fi is accessible in the main lodge and the bandas.
Activities at the lodge and nearby include chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, located just a 30-minute drive away, as well as a four-hour chimpanzee habituation experience. Guests can also enjoy birdwatching at Bigodi Wetland Swamp, visit local schools involved in the Roots and Shoots program (in partnership with the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust and the Jane Goodall Institute), tour the Rwenzori Sculpture Foundation, visit the Sadhguru School, or hike the Rwenzori Mountains.

15/10 experience
I was a little worried about using a company to book our long awaited South Africa trip but Mel at Safari made the experience incredibly simple and fun! I feel like we are best friends now 😅 she has answered all of my questions and has given me very good insights as to what to do and where to go even before we actually check into our lodge. I highly recommend Mel and Safari's services.

Unforgettable Uganda safari
I was privileged to have been able to experience a wonderful trip through Uganda. It definitely was a lifetime-best travel experience. There are simply too many highlights to list here, but these included several spectacular top-notch game park drives, interesting cultural experiences, great overnight stays, and many more (*including, of course, the gorillas*). Thank you to Mel at safari.com who put the itinerary together. She proactively managed all of the bookings and flights (including having had to deal with flight time changes). And she worked with Exclusive Uganda Safaris to make this happen. So, this wonderful country, her professionalism and the outstanding local safari operator made this trip unforgettable.
