My wife and I stayed four days an Londolozi which is part of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve which shares a fence-less border with Kruger National Park. We stayed in the Private Granite Suites which is the newest lodging at Londolozi; it has only three suites, and therefore only accommodates three couples. The suites are standalone villas, a few minutes walk from the dinning pavallion which has a lounge, kitchen and dinning area with three tables. It has its own staff and manager,Trisha, who were very friendly and truly professional. The food and wine including champagne on arrival were excellent and included in the room price which was very expensive but worth it. The Pavillion and the three villas sit directly on the bank of the Sand River on top of a large natural grouping of granite rocks with an unobstructed view of the river. We stayed in Suite 3, and from our sitting room and deck saw many animals including elephants and lions! The suites are spectacular: they are permanent structures, not tents and are huge with multiple rooms and high wood ceilings, and are elegantly furnished, and each has a private deck with heated private plunge pool. The game drives were fantastic. We traveled in an open Land Rover with one other couple. We were driven by an experienced ranger, James Hobson, who was also an excellent driver, travelling off the road through the bush to get up close to the animals. James was also extremely knowledgeable about the native animals, birds and plants. We also had a very experienced tracker, Lodolozi uses both a ranger and tracker on each vehicle, and this proved very valuable as we successfully tracked several leopards and lions, which when located ignored our vehicle and sometimes walked by the side of the stopped vehicle only an arms length away. We saw the big five multiple times and many other animals including giraffes, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, impalas to mention a few. We visited the Varty Camp at Londolozi which is a short walk. It had eight Chalets and and a beautiful large dinning area, lounge, swimming pool and yoga deck. There are three other camps at Londolozi offering different types of accommodations and different price levels including some for families. All guest have morning and afternoon game drives and access to the same animals. We also had a private tour of the staff village and school and were warmly greeted and sung to by the children. The Varty family has owned Landolozi for over 80 years, and the members of the family can be seen actively managing it, and their values of respect for the environment and people are evident. Nelson Mandela wrote, " During my long walk to freedom, I had the rare privilege to visit Londolozi. There I saw people of all races living in harmony amidst the beauty that Mother Nature offers. Londolozi represents a model of the dream I cherish for the future of nature preservation in our country." Our vacation to South Africa was wonderful, and Londolozi was the key part of it.

During our stay, Londolozi was threatened by a fire. Visible from camp. Situation handled superbly by staff. Guests out to afternoon game drive which included the view from the top of a hill of the raw power of nature. While we were out, lots of water put on lodges and fires under control by the time we got back. Beautiful dinner in the Boma and then off to sleep in our divine rooms. At no time were we concerned for our personal safety as the staff had everything under control. Bizarrely this probably heightened the experience even more. In the best possible way. Will be really spectacular in a couple of weeks with all the growth. Londolozi is not just a place. It is a state of mind,to which I would happily return to at any time.

We are a family of three ladies from Ireland and have spent 4 fantastic Christmas safari trips in the Granite Suites in Londolozi . We always stay in Granite Suite Two as the view from there is simply Amazing ! . This year we had some great Game viewing from our pool area while resting between the Game Drives . Lucian was our Game guide and he went out of his way to show us some unusual sights knowing that we are regular travellers .this year was the year for all the baby's and Lucian made sure that we saw them all . We saw what nearly was a kill ..... That would have been a first for us but the but the Buffalo got away from the lions who all scraped his back in trying to pull him down .. Lucians experience and his manner with his guests makes him the perfect Guide . Nadia looked after our every need when we were not on Safari and together they made a perfect team . On Christmas Eve David and Kate who previously managed the Granite Suite joined us to celebrate Christmas which made the night very special. There are so many beautiful places in the world to visit but in our experience none have measured up to the wonderful experience that we have had every time we visit the Granite Suites . Seeing is believing so go ...... You will not regret it and you will not be disappointed . We have already booked for new year 2016 . The resort manager Duncan has the x Factor for us and we will continue to visit Duncan and the team of Londolozi as often as we can .

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful oasis in the gorgeous Kruger Park area we were treated like Royalty. Our ranger, Lucien, was a continual wealth of knowledge and answered every question we had about the game and birds as if he was a walking textbook. He, like his darling friend, Nadia, were the best hosts and even shared meals with us. The food was great and very plentiful and the special things that they did for us were big surprises. My favorite was the cocktail party in the river!!!!! The suite was beautiful and so well kept. Of course we loved the plunge pool especially when some game would walk by. The massages were as good as any I have had anywhere and we really enjoyed our visit to the staff village where we learned more about tribal life. We will never forget this visit to our South African paradise. Thanks to all who made our trip special especially Lucien, Nadia, Momsa and James our valiant tracker!

My family rented the granite suites for 4 nights and we had an amazing time! The staff literally took care of us and we had the most amazing safari trips ever. This is the only place I will ever stay when I visit the Sabi Sands!

Spending 40 years in the travel…
Spending 40 years in the travel industry and taking several Safari to Kenya, my wife and I reached out to Dolan at Safari.com to help plan our S. African Safari to Kruger. Dolan handled all aspects of the planning including transfers to and from airport, plane reservations and lodging at the 5-star Leopard Hills lodge. With just a couple of emails he made the planning seamless. every aspect was on-time, and all responses were very timely. We can't wait to go back and would highly recommend Dolan at Safari.com

Unorgettable trip in South Africa
We have spent 12 days as a family in South Africa with my 3 children and my wife who is in a wheelchair. Thanks to Pascal, Safari.com consultant, we were able to spend an unforgettable moment with a great program while being well accompanied despite our constraints. I recommand particularly the "Monwana game lodge" for a safari in Hoedspruit. It's an amazing place with very nice people and a real family atmosphere. Thank you to the entire Safari.com team for this unforgettable trip.

Cape Town miracle
I was in Cape Town, South Africa recently for an athletic competition and had allowed myself a week of personal time to relax and properly conclude the trip, but had not bothered to plan a safari to occupy the time. I was skeptical of the cost and whether I would enjoy the experience, however a couple days into that final week it occurred to me, in a bit of a panic attack, what a waste it would be not to take advantage of this opportunity. I hopped online and started looking at flights to Johannesburg (almost all the safaris in SA start there with an early morning pick up), but it was basically impossible to get a flight early enough and/or to coordinate with the multiple safaris operating in or just outside of Kruger. With no apparent options available to turn my remaining 4 1/2 days into even a 3 day safari I stumbled on the most obvious website one could imagine, Safari.com. I'd completely given up negotiating all the variables on my own but here was a safari travel agent that might be able to help me .. and they were based right out of Cape Town, literally a stones throw from my lodgings. Serendipity, or so i hoped. I immediately sent out an email and crossed my fingers .. for roughly an hour and a half, at which point Dolan from Safari.com responded to me requesting I give him a call so that we could expedite potential arrangements. My in country phone plan wasn't able to make calls, but we arranged for him to call me and not 3 hours after being in the grip of despair Dolan got through to me and far from notifying me of how absurd it was to hold out hope for a literally, last minute safari adventure with barely 4 days available to me, he had already worked out all the details I'd sent and created a preliminary safari trip that would bypass Johannesburg airport for a flight the next morning to a closer, much, much smaller airport where I would be picked up taken, not to a 3 day safari, but a full 4 day safari, then back to the tiny, tiny airport for a return flight to Cape Town with 2 hours to spare for my return leg all the way home. It almost feels like an afterthought, after the minor miracle Dolan was able to conjure up, but the safari itself at Simbavati Lodge was just an absolutely stunning experience. The single "tent" he booked me was as luxurious as any 4 star hotel I've stayed in, the game drives, one every morning, one every evening were more amazing than I could have ever imagined, and the food, 3 meals a day with snacks and an open bar was sublime. I could go on about the wonderful staff, or the wonderful other safari goers you can meet and grab a drink with, or the different animals walking through the open lodge facilities daily .. but I've gone on long enough. I'll simply conclude by saying .. safari, absolutely, yes, do it, it is amazing. And when you do decide, Safari.com will do you right and if you have the pleasure of working with Dolan, do give him my thanks .. the entire experience was the best part of my trip :)

A great company
What to say! We planned a South African Safari for 2020 with Safari.com. We researched companies and took a chance on one we had never heard of before. Henry Franklin was our agent, we gave him our budget and wish list. He came up with a wonderful looking trip and we made our choices! Then came Covid, preventing us from going. We couldn’t have been in better hands. Henry rebooked everything for the next year. He kept us updated on how things looked there. When in 2021, we decided it still looked iffy, he rebooked us a second time for 2022. We couldn’t have been happier with the service we had in a rough time for all. We had a wonderful experience on our trip when we finally got to go!! Henry had everything so well organized and gave us a detailed list of what transfer companies would be meeting us and when. When Airlink bumped us and put us on standby returning from Victoria Falls, we called the concierge number Henry had given us and Catherine worked hard on this and got us back on our flight. The Safari.com team had our back and we have no regrets. Would definitely use them again. Our lodging was wonderful, saw the big 5 within first 2 drives. Henry definitely knew the territory and did a great job matching what we wanted with where he suggested we go and stay. Thanks Safari.com, Henry and Catherine!

Superior service, knowledgeable, transparent, amazing can-do attitude
These guys get 10/10. I have booked with them a few times. To Kruger National Park, including both public and private(concession) camps, flights and car hire. Their senior agent, Dolan is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Attention to detail, transparency, and 'can-do' attitude are out of the ordinary. I recently came into contact with Tanya at safari.com as well. It looks like all their agents are similarly well trained. Thank you. I cannot recommend Dolan and his team highly enough.
