The Detail

Nothing beats being in the African bushveld and experiencing magnificent sunsets, clear blue skies, bright shining stars at night, and the sounds of the wild. Lukimbi offers all this along with well-appointed, comfortable accommodations.

Classic Suites feature high windows for fantastic game viewing, a well-appointed bathroom with a spacious bath, inside and outside showers that overlook the trees and river, as well as a private deck extending from the lounge. All suites have air-conditioning, a fan, mosquito nets, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a minibar. Even with children sharing the room, you can luxuriate in the space and atmosphere.

Premier Suites are spacious and boast a separate bedroom, dining area, large lounge, en-suite bathroom with a huge bathtub, inside and outside showers, a second bathroom, a private pool, and a wooden viewing deck where elephants frequently stop by for a refreshing drink.

Family Suites: Classic Suites (accommodating up to 4 – 2 adults and 2 children) and Premier Suites (accommodating up to 5 – 2 adults and 3 children) can be converted to accommodate families. Cots are provided for smaller children, while single beds accommodate children between the ages of 4 and 12. Families are allocated the units closer to the lodge facilities.

The main area of the lodge is a welcoming space with a sweeping staircase and an artistic fireplace engraved with animal designs. The comfortable lounge area overlooks the Lwakahle River where animals often come to drink, and the nearby bar features an award-winning wine list and cellar. The African boma provides a fire-lit venue where sumptuous meals are enjoyed under a canopy of stars. Meals are served in different dining areas around the lodge to offer diverse views of the African bush.

Other facilities include a library, business center, curio shop, outdoor swimming pool with a connecting children's paddle pool, spa, gym, chapel, and Wi-Fi access in the main lounge area.

Bounded by three major river systems, Lukimbi Safari Lodge's extensive 15,000-hectare area offers a diverse array of habitats, from grasslands to wooded areas and lush riverine thickets. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the impressive Big Five reserve, and appreciate the smaller creatures on exciting bush walks led by skilled rangers. Guided bush walks include birdwatching, tracking animals, learning about the medicinal value of plants, and exploring the geology of rock formations and distinctive landscapes. Walks cover distances between 2 and 5 kilometers, based on fitness levels and specific guest interests.

A children's program is offered to keep young hands and minds busy. Activities include game drives, bush walks, casting tracks, arts and crafts, treasure hunts, interactive sessions with rangers, special boma dinners, kids’ dinners, and picnics. "Sara was absolutely amazing to work with. She created five different itinerary options for us to choose from based on the criteria and budget I provided for our family trip to Kruger National Park. What I appreciated most was how willing she was to connect over WhatsApp to really understand what we were looking for. After our call, she worked incredibly fast and sent all the options the very next day. Every itinerary included exactly what we asked for and stayed within our budget. Her service, attention to detail, and genuine care made the entire process stress-free. I honestly didn’t even know where to start planning this trip, so her help was enormous. Thanks to Sara, not only did we find the perfect safari package, but we also booked our flights as well. Thank you, Sara, for the excellent service and support — we truly appreciate everything you did for us!"
