Madikwe Safari Lodge is situated in the 75 000 hectare malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, located north-west of Johannesburg and bordering Gaborone, Botswana. The area is well known for providing the best game viewing within the Reserve, as well as having the lowest concentration of safari vehicles, which makes for a superior Big 5 game viewing experience.

Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcome at Lelapa Lodge. Child rates are applicable. Children's activities and childminding are available.
Kopano and Dithaba Lodge only permit children over the age of 16 years. Dithaba will accept children of all ages if the lodge is booked exclusively.
The Detail
Three unique luxury lodges offer intimate accommodation with sweeping views over the game-filled plains, with the Dwarsberg range forming a purple-hued backdrop.
Lelapa Lodge offers 12 comfortable, spacious suites with double beds (convertible to twins), air-conditioning, ceiling fans, en-suite bathrooms, safes, minibars, direct-dial telephones, hairdryers, and a range of deluxe amenities. Two of the rooms are family suites and feature a second bedroom with children’s bunk beds and a sleeper couch. Many activities are designed especially for children, including family safari drives, bush orientation, bug CSI, dung tracking, track packs with Plaster of Paris, baking in the kitchen, making pizzas in the boma, stargazing, games night, and much more.
Kopano Lodge offers four suites, each equipped with double beds (convertible to twins), air-conditioning, fireplaces, ceiling fans, en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, private plunge pools, safes, minibars, direct-dial telephones, hairdryers, and a range of deluxe amenities.
With only four suites, Dithaba Lodge is well-suited for groups of friends or family members. Each suite features double beds (convertible to twins), private plunge pools, air-conditioning, fireplaces, ceiling fans, en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, safes, minibars, direct-dial telephones, hairdryers, and a range of deluxe amenities.
The lodge facilities include a wellness spa, relaxation area, Wi-Fi access, outdoor dining areas, and private viewing decks. Activities offered at Madikwe Safari Lodge include morning and evening game drives in open safari vehicles, bush walks, bird watching, astronomy, ecology house visits, local community village tours, bush dining, and spa treatments.

Child rates
Lelapa Lodge: 0–5 free; 6–15 at 50% of adult per person sharing rate; 16+ full adult rate or full single supplement in own room. If two under-16s share a room alone, one pays full adult rate and the second pays per age band. Single adult sharing with a child pays single supplement; child charged per age.
Notable exceptions
- Madikwe Safari Lodge comprises multiple camps with different child policies. Lelapa Lodge welcomes children of all ages. Kopano & Dithaba Lodges do not accept children under 16 unless the lodge is booked on exclusive use (in which case Lelapa's policy applies). Elela Villa does not accept children under 12 (special requests considered subject to T&Cs), and children under 16 are not permitted in Kopano main area unless booked exclusively with Elela Villa. On game drives, children aged 5 and younger are not permitted on shared drives at Lelapa; a private vehicle can be arranged at R9,500 per day, subject to availability, with no age restriction. A family game drive is offered for younger children after breakfast. At Elela Villa a private vehicle is included in the rates. Children under 16 are not permitted on bush walks under any arrangement. Family room max 4 people (plus an additional child under 2 in a cot); suites max 2 people.
