Muchenje Safari Lodge is perched atop an escarpment on the tranquil western side of Botswana’s Chobe National Park. Offering spectacular views of the Chobe River and the seasonal floodplains, its location ensures a peaceful retreat away from the busy Kasane area while being only a two-hour drive from the stunning Victoria Falls.
Children aged 8 years and older are welcome. Children under 8 are accommodated on request during the low season.
Families with children between the ages of 8 and 12 will need to book a private vehicle for their safari.
The minimum age for walking and mokoro activities is 12 years and is subject to the discretion of the management and guide.
Only one family can be accommodated at any one time, with a maximum of two triples in standard rooms permitted.
Muchenje’s main lodge features a spacious lounge, bar, and dining area with breathtaking views of the Chobe River and their waterhole.
While the dining area focuses on a communal dining experience, guests have the option of private dining. For a more intimate setting, there's a pergola situated by the pool.
A Bush Braai (barbecue) is offered in a boma located in the bush, close to the lodge.
The chefs prepare delicious and diverse meals, accommodating vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets.
Expansive deck areas provide guests with a relaxing space to enjoy the stunning scenery. They are perfect for watching the African sunset with a cold drink in hand or stargazing around the fire pit.
The swimming pool, open all year round, boasts a view overlooking the floodplain.
Muchenje features 10 private thatched cottages and a larger family cottage, each elegantly designed to offer a unique view of the Chobe floodplain.
The family cottage provides ample comfort, featuring a mezzanine open-plan sleeping area that can accommodate two children. With two spacious bathrooms and a large deck, it is ideal for families or groups of young friends traveling together.
Unwind on your deck and bask in the sun while watching animals graze on the plains below.
The price includes unlimited safari activities, a full-day Chobe excursion with a river cruise, night drives, guided safari walks, mokoro trips (water levels permitting), a village trip, all meals, all drinks, park fees, transfers to and from Kasane Airport, laundry services, and government tax.

Excellent travel help!
