Phinda Private Game Reserve is a rich and diverse park that encompasses 28,555 hectares of protected wildlife land in KwaZulu-Natal. The reserve is positioned between the Mkuze Game Reserve and the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park (a World Heritage Site) and is within easy reach of the Indian Ocean coastline. The landscape is lush with grassy woodlands, and broad, sweeping mountain ranges. It is home to the famous Big Five.
Accommodation at Phinda Rock Lodge comprises six secluded Suites. Each unit incorporates an en-suite bathroom with outdoor showers, a private plunge pool, minibar, private viewing deck, mosquito netting, overhead fans, air conditioning, in-room safe, fireplace, "gym in a basket," and Wi-Fi access. Your every need will be taken care of by a personal butler who will soon know your favorite beverages and dishes.
Phinda Rock Lodge offers an exciting range of safari activities, including morning and evening game drives in open Land Rovers. These drives may even take you into the middle of the bush for a safari breakfast or out to the Mzinene River for a morning boat cruise. All drives are conducted by a team of experienced guides eager to share their knowledge of the area. With the coastline nearby, guests also have the option of snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing out at sea.
During the day, when temperatures soar, guests can choose to relax around the swimming pool or head out on foot to discover firsthand the area's smaller wondrous creatures and plant life. For a more relaxed experience, bird-watching excursions are arranged, or guests can visit a nearby bird hide to enjoy the area's huge bird population. Additionally, Phinda Rock Lodge offers Zulu village tours, seasonal night turtle drives, black rhino tracking on foot, and participative conservation experiences.
