You Should Know
- Children 6 years and older are welcome at Splash Camp.
- A maximum of two children can stay at the reduced rate if booked into one of the two family rooms.
- Children under 18 years are not allowed to stay in a room alone without an accompanying adult.
- A private vehicle is required for children between 6 and 12 years.
- The minimum age for mokoro and walking activities is 12 years.
The Detail
The Kwara Concession shares a 30-kilometer water boundary with the renowned Moremi Game Reserve, considered one of the prime game viewing destinations in Botswana.
The camp features 12 elegant Splash Rooms, which have spacious bedrooms with double or twin beds draped in mosquito netting. The rooms include en-suite bathrooms with a double vanity, indoor and outdoor showers, a writing desk, an overhead fan, a small lounge area, and a private verandah with comfortable chairs offering spectacular views of the pan.
There is also a separate Splash Enclave Camp, designed for groups or families of 6–10 people, with no age restrictions. The Enclave Rooms are identical to the Splash Rooms but include additional private facilities such as a dining area, lounge, bar area, and plunge pool.
The camp facilities include an orientation center, a plunge pool, a bar, a lounge, a fire pit, and a curio shop.
Activities available at Splash Camp include morning and evening game drives in open safari vehicles guided by a professional guide and tracker. Visitors can also enjoy guided bush walks, providing close-up encounters with the diverse flora, fauna, and smaller wonders of nature. Other activities include mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions, fishing excursions offered 10 months a year, boating trips, and bird watching.
The Kwara Concession is home to an abundance of wildlife, including leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, lions, elephants, buffalo, and zebras. Bird enthusiasts will also enjoy the area, with over 300 bird species recorded—a true birdwatcher's paradise.

Long stay
Stays of six nights or more, either at Splash alone or combined across Kwando camps, qualify for reduced nightly rates, with a further reduction from eight nights. The discount applies in the Secret, Shoulder and Flood seasons only, is not available in Green Season, and nights at Chobe Safari Lodge, Chobe Bush Lodge and Nata Lodge do not count towards the total. Guests who have stayed with Kwando before also receive 5 per cent off accommodation, which may be combined with the long-stay reduction but not with any other special; previous camps and dates are required for verification.

Children under 6 are only accepted on exclusive-use bookings of the camp, or by booking the Splash Enclave on exclusive use (minimum 4 full-paying adults, max 10 pax) — the Enclave has no minimum age, but under-18s must share with an adult. Private vehicles are compulsory for families with children aged 6–11. Children under 12 are not permitted on mokoro or walking safaris (and otherwise at guide's discretion). Child Rate is not valid during the 5 Rivers Season (children pay full adult). Kwando does not provide cots, highchairs or baby/toddler equipment — families must bring their own. Babysitting is informal: the family's guide looks after children while parents take a break, effectively delivered via the compulsory private family guide/vehicle arrangement rather than a dedicated nanny.

Kwando Splash Camp offers seasonal mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) excursions in the Okavango Delta. Children must be a minimum of 12 years of age to participate, and guides and camp managers reserve the right to restrict participation for safety reasons.

Conservation & Co-existence Cultural Experience
A cultural experience focused on conservation and community co-existence, available as an excursion from Kwando Splash Camp and all other Kwando camps. It is operated via helicopter/scenic flight and priced according to camp location and flight duration.

"Jolene was simply extraordinary. She put together what became an absolutely incredible African trip for us in the space of barely three weeks, and from the outset her responsiveness, knowledge and genuine enthusiasm were exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble, responses were almost immediate, and she very quickly understood exactly what we were looking for, our expectations and the way we like to travel. More than simply being an expert at what she does, Jolene genuinely cared about making the trip special for us, and that came through in every aspect of her planning. What particularly impressed us was the flexibility with which she brought everything together. We already had some of our own arrangements in place, including international flights and staying with friends in Cape Town, but Jolene seamlessly incorporated those into the overall itinerary and still organised all the surrounding logistics and transfers. The safari component she designed was outstanding, taking us through Kruger, Victoria Falls, Chobe and the Okavango Delta, before finishing in Cape Town and the Stellenbosch wine region. Every part flowed beautifully and the lodges, experiences and logistics were exceptional. Just as importantly, Jolene stayed in contact throughout the trip at all the key moments, which made travelling so much easier. She would check us in for our internal flights and send through the boarding passes, confirm transfers the day before each pick-up, and make sure everything was in place before we ever had to think about it. That attention to detail, and the fact that she was always one step ahead, removed so much of the usual travel stress and allowed us simply to enjoy the trip. It was genuinely the trip of a lifetime, put together in an extraordinarily short timeframe, and Jolene deserves enormous credit for making it all happen. We could not recommend her highly enough."
