The Detail

Set in the same location in the Timbavati, overlooking the Nlharalumi riverbed, guests will be welcomed to a more ecologically sensitive camp with a lighter footprint. Building is well underway, and the new design embodies the essence of Tanda Tula Safari Camp, continuing to connect guests to the African wilderness through canvas.

The upgraded camp features 7 Safari Suites, ideal for 2 guests, and 2 Family Suites, designed for families of up to 4 guests (2 adults and 2 children). The spacious suites have an open-plan lounge and bedroom configuration leading onto an expansive terrace with a plunge pool overlooking the riverbed. The bathrooms offer indoor and outdoor showers, a freestanding bathtub, and all other necessary amenities.

There are light and airy main areas consisting of a lounge, dining area, and bar with a wraparound covered patio. Facilities at the camp include a communal pool, a library, a gym, and a Wellness Nest.

The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is regarded as one of the top safari destinations in South Africa. The reserve is composed of individual landholders who have collectively formed a protected area of over 53,000 hectares (131,000 acres) of unspoiled natural wilderness adjoining the Kruger National Park in an open ecosystem. The Timbavati is a highly professional and well-managed reserve that protects sustainable populations of many endangered species such as black and white rhinoceroses, pangolins, saddle-billed storks, southern ground hornbills, and many others.
