Child-Friendly Activities
While we do not offer babysitting services, our team is happy to help coordinate engaging, child-friendly experiences through the Ngwana Club.

Game Drive Policy
For safety reasons, children under the age of 6 are not permitted on scheduled game drives with other guests. A private vehicle must be booked for families with younger children.

Thorntree River Lodge has been completely rebuilt with an environmentally-conscious design. Drawing inspiration from local customs and culture, it features a modern contemporary design with tented roof structures to maintain the feel of authentic Africa.

The lodge boasts 8 Twin Rooms and 2 Family Units, each comprising 4 beds.

Each Twin Room is tented and features comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, a minibar, air conditioning, tea and coffee-making facilities, safes, a sala, and a verandah with a luxurious private plunge pool.

The Family Units have inter-leading walkways between the parents' and children’s rooms, both of which are en-suite. Each unit includes comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, a minibar, air conditioning, tea and coffee-making facilities, safes, a sala, and a verandah with a luxurious private plunge pool.

The main lodge consists of a lounge with an open dining area, where the fine dining experience of African cuisine comes to life. The communal deck is set on the edge of the stunning riverside and features a sunken boma area and an infinity pool. Wooden decking floats on the edge of the river and moves with the water level to create the illusion of sailing a boat, helping to achieve a seamless connection between river and land.

Other lodge facilities include a nearby gym, spa, activity desk, library, bar, and complimentary internet access.

Activities offered at the lodge include visits to Victoria Falls, rhino trekking on foot, game drives in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, cultural village visits, sunset river cruises (on a private boat), fishing, canoeing, and visits to the Livingstone Museum.
