My husband and I stayed at Tshukudu for four nights with another couple. We are all experienced travellers and have tried and loved many different experiences around the world but never a Safari before trying Tshukudu.I really can't speak highly enough of General Manager Shawn, her team, and our entire experience at Tshukudu. The experience is completely immersive - our morning and evening game viewing drives were incredible - Shawn was our guide for all eight of our drives and her interpretation and spotting skills were wonderful. She was able to find the most incredible sightings of animals and her knowledge of many of the animals individually, particularly and lions and elephants, meant that many of our sightings became stories in their own right, not just a viewing. Shawn was sensitive not only to our wishes but to the needs of the animals we were viewing and she ensured our presence was never intrusive which I really appreciated and admired.Tshukudu's attention to detail in their food, amenities and service were great. The atmosphere is one of collaboration, warmth and sharing with guests coming together for meals to share experiences from the drives of the day. Evenings would see us gathered around the fire swapping cameras and appreciating each other's pictures and sightings.People from all over the world came to Tshukudu during our four night stay and it was easy to see why they would venture from so far away, just as we did.Tshukudu is a boutique experience, tailored to your needs - it is a premium product in a market where paying a little more really is worth it for the experience you'll get and memories you'll come away with. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Excellent food, drinks, and service, we especially appreciated the private honeymoon dinner and champagne served in our room the last night. It was a wonderful touch. We loved the balcony with its view of the animals at the watering hole in the distance. We can't say enough about the game drives and our guide, Luke. He was very personable and knowledgeable, and we had wonderful experiences on the game drives. We had so many good animal viewings, and even during the times that we were not seeing the most sought-after animals, he always had something to teach us about the environment or the less exciting animals.

This was the best holiday we had in a long time. I will never forget the time we spend here. The walks in the morning with the Cheetahs and Caracal was unforgettable. The food, our room the staff, everything was absolutely outstanding! I will go back anytime. Richard was our game ranger and he did a wonderful job. Nothing was too much to ask, all the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay
Scott
Very enjoyable stay and personal attention. Good personal attention and learned new things about wild life. Good food and good game walks. Two days is long enough as there is a limit to how many bush drives and walks you can do

Had a great experience at this lodge. Spotted 4 out of the big five, and other species as well. Stayed here two days and had a beautiful experience of the wildlife in South Africa. The lodge facilities where perfect, also the swimming pool was a nice for a relaxing moment. Breakfast, lunch and dinner where well served. It's also nice that this lodge is small based, only 6 lodges are available, if fully booked it's still a small group, which makes this experience even better.
Eric
We only stayed 1 night at the Tshukudu Bush Lodge and it was a wonderful experience. Service was excellent and everyone was super friendly. Perched on a hill, overlooking the bush with wandering game below your cottage.
Claire
It's the most idyllic place to be, the middle of the bush, no technology, just nature all around. Views are stunning! The lodges were so romantic, and the sunken bath tub was too wonderful! it also over looked the watering hole so the view from the tub was just as perfect as the view from the balcony. We couldn't believe the value for money, everything was such high standards. Joy was amazing, so knowledgeable and so so friendly. She and earnest made our time so memorable by sharing light-hearted banter, we really felt at home. Joy, if you read this, thank you so much for everything, we thought you were absolutely brilliant and loved spending time with you- you taught us lots!! And remember I spotted the artewolf we hope you're doing well, and still loving the best job in the world. The food was amazing, my South african husband loves his meat so the impala and ostrich etc was perfect for him. I'm a fussier Brit, but there was always an alternative option to the wild game which was delicious. There was always plenty to eat and drink, with a lovely touch of the inclusive mini-bar. It's amazing to be somewhere without Internet/tv and no children!!! It's very exclusive as it's only got the 6 lodges. Romantic is an understatement- we were there for our honeymoon and the staff provided a private meal for us in our lodge which was above and beyond. 3days is a good amount to be able to have the additional drives. You get to see so much wildlife and the drivers are more than happy to stay longer if you want to watch/ photograph an animal for longer. Tshukudu was so wonderful I actually cried to leave! This place is perfect! A little taste of heaven.
Steve
This is a very friendly, personalised lodge with great staff, great food and very private. Quality rooms, no kids, and great game drives. I really enjoyed my two nights at the lodge and was sorry to leave. Great setting too.

We arrived at Bakubung around 1pm where we were collected by our guide Luke who transferred us to Tshukudu. We were warmly greeted by Simon and offered a cool drink and a snack before our afternoon game drive. We were there for two nights and it was a wonderful experience. The accommodation was just lovely the food tasty and well presented and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We had 4 game drives whilst we were there and saw lots of amazing wildlife although only 2 of the big five. Our guide Luke was so knowledgeable and made the drives special. It is a beautiful place to stay and we would highly recommend it

My fiancé and I traveled to South Africa to elope and exchange vows in this beautiful country. Our first stop was Tshukudu and I must say it really set some high standards for the rest of our vacation. The lodge couldn't have been more perfect and romantic with its little private cottages and stunning views of the mountains and valleys full of all kinds of wild life. The room was spacious, beyond clean, and a bed you just melt into! Ok, enough about the room... The staff was the most hospitable and sweetest people we met throughout our stay in SA. They made our special vacation extra romantic with a private dinner in our cottage with candle light and a burning fire place! The meals were beyond our expectations every night and the safari rides were a lot of fun. We did get to see the big 5 amongst several other beautiful animals! Last, the lodge only has 6 chalets which make it so personable and intimate. We hope to one day be able to return to this magical place and highly recommend it to anyone reading this review. Oh, one more thing, our safari was lead by Luke who is so young and I don't know how he knows so much! Lol!! This guy is so full of knowledge and taught us so much during the safari! Thank you Luke and all of the staff at Tshukudu Lodge for making our stay so memorable!

Unorgettable trip in South Africa
We have spent 12 days as a family in South Africa with my 3 children and my wife who is in a wheelchair. Thanks to Pascal, Safari.com consultant, we were able to spend an unforgettable moment with a great program while being well accompanied despite our constraints. I recommand particularly the "Monwana game lodge" for a safari in Hoedspruit. It's an amazing place with very nice people and a real family atmosphere. Thank you to the entire Safari.com team for this unforgettable trip.

Superior service, knowledgeable, transparent, amazing can-do attitude
These guys get 10/10. I have booked with them a few times. To Kruger National Park, including both public and private(concession) camps, flights and car hire. Their senior agent, Dolan is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Attention to detail, transparency, and 'can-do' attitude are out of the ordinary. I recently came into contact with Tanya at safari.com as well. It looks like all their agents are similarly well trained. Thank you. I cannot recommend Dolan and his team highly enough.

Cape Town miracle
I was in Cape Town, South Africa recently for an athletic competition and had allowed myself a week of personal time to relax and properly conclude the trip, but had not bothered to plan a safari to occupy the time. I was skeptical of the cost and whether I would enjoy the experience, however a couple days into that final week it occurred to me, in a bit of a panic attack, what a waste it would be not to take advantage of this opportunity. I hopped online and started looking at flights to Johannesburg (almost all the safaris in SA start there with an early morning pick up), but it was basically impossible to get a flight early enough and/or to coordinate with the multiple safaris operating in or just outside of Kruger. With no apparent options available to turn my remaining 4 1/2 days into even a 3 day safari I stumbled on the most obvious website one could imagine, Safari.com. I'd completely given up negotiating all the variables on my own but here was a safari travel agent that might be able to help me .. and they were based right out of Cape Town, literally a stones throw from my lodgings. Serendipity, or so i hoped. I immediately sent out an email and crossed my fingers .. for roughly an hour and a half, at which point Dolan from Safari.com responded to me requesting I give him a call so that we could expedite potential arrangements. My in country phone plan wasn't able to make calls, but we arranged for him to call me and not 3 hours after being in the grip of despair Dolan got through to me and far from notifying me of how absurd it was to hold out hope for a literally, last minute safari adventure with barely 4 days available to me, he had already worked out all the details I'd sent and created a preliminary safari trip that would bypass Johannesburg airport for a flight the next morning to a closer, much, much smaller airport where I would be picked up taken, not to a 3 day safari, but a full 4 day safari, then back to the tiny, tiny airport for a return flight to Cape Town with 2 hours to spare for my return leg all the way home. It almost feels like an afterthought, after the minor miracle Dolan was able to conjure up, but the safari itself at Simbavati Lodge was just an absolutely stunning experience. The single "tent" he booked me was as luxurious as any 4 star hotel I've stayed in, the game drives, one every morning, one every evening were more amazing than I could have ever imagined, and the food, 3 meals a day with snacks and an open bar was sublime. I could go on about the wonderful staff, or the wonderful other safari goers you can meet and grab a drink with, or the different animals walking through the open lodge facilities daily .. but I've gone on long enough. I'll simply conclude by saying .. safari, absolutely, yes, do it, it is amazing. And when you do decide, Safari.com will do you right and if you have the pleasure of working with Dolan, do give him my thanks .. the entire experience was the best part of my trip :)

A great company
What to say! We planned a South African Safari for 2020 with Safari.com. We researched companies and took a chance on one we had never heard of before. Henry Franklin was our agent, we gave him our budget and wish list. He came up with a wonderful looking trip and we made our choices! Then came Covid, preventing us from going. We couldn’t have been in better hands. Henry rebooked everything for the next year. He kept us updated on how things looked there. When in 2021, we decided it still looked iffy, he rebooked us a second time for 2022. We couldn’t have been happier with the service we had in a rough time for all. We had a wonderful experience on our trip when we finally got to go!! Henry had everything so well organized and gave us a detailed list of what transfer companies would be meeting us and when. When Airlink bumped us and put us on standby returning from Victoria Falls, we called the concierge number Henry had given us and Catherine worked hard on this and got us back on our flight. The Safari.com team had our back and we have no regrets. Would definitely use them again. Our lodging was wonderful, saw the big 5 within first 2 drives. Henry definitely knew the territory and did a great job matching what we wanted with where he suggested we go and stay. Thanks Safari.com, Henry and Catherine!
