Marataba Safari Lodge welcomes children of all ages, including on game drives and safari activities — an explicit carve-out from the broader MORE Family Collection policy that excludes under-5s from drives. The sister property Marataba Mountain Lodge does NOT accept children under 16; that restriction is specific to Mountain Lodge and does not apply to Safari Lodge. Four Luxury Family Tents accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children, with a second bedroom (2 single beds) reserved for children under 16 only, plus an additional stretcher bed for a third child. The Marataba Residence (4-bedroom, max 8 adults + 2 children) includes 1 private vehicle and child-minding in its rate inclusions. Private vehicles are otherwise available on request, but NOT available over the peak period 20 December – 3 January. The Mack & Madi Kids' Adventure Safari Club operates at Safari Lodge & Residence, and a dedicated family bush bumble is offered for younger children after breakfast at Safari Lodge.
