The Details

Mbano Manor Hotel sits within an ancient teak forest on the outskirts of Victoria Falls town, in Zimbabwe. The property was carefully designed to preserve the original trees, with pathways winding between public areas and guest suites through a sanctuary alive with colourful bird species.

The location balances proximity to the falls with the seclusion of a forest retreat. Guests are around two and a half miles from the mighty Zambezi, where the river drops more than 300 feet into the gorge across a sheet of falling water over a mile wide. The town centre is only a few minutes away.

The hotel was founded by Dr Matifadza Martha Nyazema and remains family-owned and independent. The architecture draws on classic bungalow design, with traditional shutters, generous verandas and abundant space, while interiors offer modern comfort with quiet, thoughtful detail.

Accommodation

Mbano Manor offers 18 private luxury suites set discreetly among the teak trees, each with its own veranda from which to take in the forest setting over coffee or a sundowner. The suites are designed for effortless comfort, with classic-chic interiors and modern amenities.

The Mutota Forest Villa is the most opulent option on the property, sleeping up to six guests. It suits multi-generational families, romantic getaways or small executive retreats seeking greater privacy and space.

Dining

Dining at Mbano draws on the hotel's reputation for bespoke hospitality, with meals served in the main manor and across the forest setting. The Bayuni Spa also forms part of the broader guest experience, with wellness treatments available on site.
