The Detail
Old Drift Lodge is a bush paradise situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, offering luxury tied together with the area’s rich heritage. With passing wildlife on your doorstep, the lodge creates an escape with tones of sophistication. The natural sounds of the bush become your lullaby at night, while bird chatter gently wakes you in the morning. The ambiance exudes romance, setting the stage for pure indulgence.
Family-friendly accommodations include 10 luxury double tented suites and 4 family suites. The family suites feature two inter-leading rooms separated by a sliding canvas door. These en-suite tents, conveniently situated along the Zambezi River, seamlessly blend with the surrounding wilderness. The elevated wooden walkways gracefully lower in areas to allow for crossing wildlife.
Each tent encompasses a bedroom, a living area, and a bathroom designed for an other-worldly experience. With copper touches, corrugated iron accents, indoor and outdoor showers, and a free-standing claw-footed bathtub offering scenic views, relaxation is a must. Step outside to your private deck, where a plunge pool and breathtaking river views await.
The main lodge area boasts spaciousness and 360-degree views of the Zambezi and a nearby waterhole. Whether you're lounging by the fire pit in the sunken seating area, dining al fresco on the deck, or enjoying the indoor bar and dining space with its cozy fireplace, this space is designed for creating lasting memories. Additional amenities include a private spa offering blissful treatments, a gym, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
As the closest lodge to the iconic Victoria Falls within the Zambezi National Park, a visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must. Your stay includes a guided tour of the rain forest and the thundering falls. Complimentary transfers to Victoria Falls town are also part of the package. Owned by tour operator Wild Horizons, the lodge offers a wide array of activities, from thrilling adventures to more leisurely pursuits. As part of your stay, enjoy two daily scheduled safari experiences. These may include a river safari, a guided bush walk, or a game drive, ensuring immersive encounters with African wildlife.
Old Drift Lodge is dedicated to community and conservation efforts, supporting projects that benefit both people and wildlife. Additionally, eco-friendly initiatives such as solar heating, grey water systems, and an organic vegetable garden are implemented to minimize environmental impact.
