Location

Pioneers sits on Mahogany Road in a quiet residential suburb of Victoria Falls, around 1.5 miles from the falls themselves and an easy drive from Victoria Falls Airport. The setting is peaceful and leafy, yet close enough to walk or transfer quickly into town for activities, restaurants and the falls.

The lodge blends the nostalgic feel of early explorers with the comforts modern travellers expect. Lush gardens, manicured lawns and a relaxed, hands-on style of hospitality define the experience.

Rooms

The 50 rooms are tastefully decorated in a classic style and look out over the gardens. Each is air-conditioned, with ceiling fans, a safe, mosquito nets, tea and coffee-making facilities, multi-plugs and good lighting. En-suite bathrooms have a shower, toilet and double vanity. Four spacious family rooms make the lodge a practical choice for families or friends travelling together.

Dining

The heart of the lodge is a warm main area with a cosy lounge, a timeless dining room and a spacious terrace for relaxed meals outdoors. The classic saloon-style bar pours a range of refreshing drinks, including locally brewed craft beer made with water from the Zambezi. Meals are served on a half-board or bed-and-breakfast basis.

Pioneers acts as a comfortable base for the full range of Victoria Falls experiences arranged through the on-site activities desk. Options include guided tours of the falls, village and historic bridge tours, the Bamba Tram, walking safaris, game drives, the Siduli Hide, elephant interactions, horse-riding safaris, Chobe day trips, Zambezi river cruises, fishing, helicopter and microlight flights, bungee jumping, the canopy tour, highwire activities and white-water rafting.
