Perched high on a hilltop near to the Botswana border in the Madikwe Game Reserve, the small and intimate Rockfig Madikwe offers luxury accommodation with magnificent views of the African wilderness.

Details:
With only four private villas, the lodge offers an intimate experience. Each villa is equipped with a boma - perfect for the private “braai” (barbeque) experience - and private plunge pool. From its perch, the lodge offers “The Cliff”, an extraordinary lookout point perfect for taking in the Madikwe Game Reserve and enjoying sundowners after experiencing the Super Seven safari – Big Five (including white and black rhino), as well as wild dog and cheetah.
One-bedroom Villas:
Tshukudu Villa
Featuring a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom, large patio, private boma and panoramic views of the Madikwe Plains, the villa is perfect for couples looking for a romantic and intimate getaway.
Nare Villa:
The “buffalo” villa perched on the cliffs, makes for a beautiful couples retreat. Enjoy views of the plains, bushveld and nearby waterhole - where buffalo have been known to stop for a refreshing drink - from the comfort of the private patio. Similar to the Tshukudu Villa, Nare features a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom, large patio and private boma.
Two-bedroom Villa — Tlou Villa:
Ideal for small families or couples travelling together, Tlou Villa features two bedrooms with king-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms, a large patio, boma and private splash pool overlooking the hills of the Madikwe Game Reserve.
Three-bedroom Villa — Inkwe Private Family House:
Set amongst the indigenous trees, the original luxury bush lodge and family home features three luxurious king bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. With a large private swimming pool, indoor and outdoor lounges and private boma, Inkwe is perfect for a private family getaway.

Private Photographic Hide
RockFig Madikwe offers guests exclusive use of a private photographic hide, positioned directly on the lodge's waterhole — the oldest water source in the Madikwe reserve. The hide is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, solely for the use of lodge guests, providing uninterrupted access to wildlife coming to drink throughout the day and night.

Luxury Villas: 13+ full adult rate; under 13 pay 50% of adult rate (R 6 350STO15 per child per night, ages 3–12) and require a private vehicle at R 6 000/day for drives; under 2 stay free but also require the private vehicle for drives. Inkwe Family House: 13+ full adult rate; 3–12 pay 50% of additional adult rate; under 2 free — private vehicle & ranger included.
Notable exceptions
- Children of all ages are welcome to stay. In the Luxury Villas (Nare, Tshukudu, Tlou), children under 8 (SADC rate sheet) or under 13 (2026 international rate sheet) must book a private game vehicle at R 6 000 per day to join drives. Inkwe Family House includes a private safari vehicle and ranger in the rate, so the private-vehicle surcharge does not apply and children of all ages can join drives. Bumble Drives kids' programme caters to children aged 6 and under. Babysitting available at R 150/hour per child.

Molatedi School Visit
Guests are taken to visit the Molatedi village school, where lodge management matches each guest's personal interests or professional expertise to the school's current needs. Past visits have included donations of vegetable seeds for the school garden, sports clothing, dental hygiene presentations, and schoolbooks purchased with guest donations that guests deliver in person.
