Days 01–05
Destination - Samburu National Reserve
Your journey starts at Wilson Airport, where you'll board a scheduled light aircraft to the Samburu Game Reserve. Upon landing, you will be transferred to Soroi Larsens Camp, arriving just in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, embark on an exciting game drive to discover the untamed beauty of Samburu. Afterward, return to camp for a peaceful night beneath the African sky.
For the next two days, immerse yourself in the tranquil wilderness of Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. Traverse the rugged terrain and encounter the diverse wildlife unique to this region.
The Game Drive Experience
Samburu National Reserve is famous for its distinctive "Samburu Special 5" species, which are native to Northern Kenya. These species include the rare Grevy's Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, and the stunning reticulated giraffe. Choose a morning or afternoon game drive to witness the uniqueness of this wildlife.
Sundowner Experience
After an exciting evening safari, you will be escorted to a raised viewing platform near Larsen's Camp. From there, you can enjoy the sunset behind the Koitogo Hills while indulging in a cocktail of your choice and healthy canapés.
Birdwatching in Camp
With over 400 native bird species, Samburu is a haven for birdwatchers. Accompanied by our knowledgeable local bird guide, you will explore the Ewaso Nyiro river forest line to spot unique northern species like the Somali bee-eater and Somali ostrich, among others. This excursion offers a perfect opportunity to expand your birding list.
