The Detail
Sala's Camp offers spectacular views of the Serengeti National Park and is one of the first camps to witness the legendary annual wildebeest migration, which typically occurs between June and September.
Sala's Tented Camp delivers a truly authentic safari experience paired with understated, intimate luxury.
The seven Luxury Tents, including two spacious Honeymoon Tents and two Family Tents that accommodate a family of up to four, are both elegant and comfortable. All rooms are raised off the ground and feature a canvas roof and walls, wooden floors, and stackable glass doors. They include either double or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with baths, hot showers, and flushing toilets. Electricity is solar-powered with a standby generator for refrigeration and charging devices. After a day of exploration, guests can relax in hammocks or join others for sundowners by the campfire before enjoying a home-cooked dinner served under a canopy of stars.
Sala's Camp offers phenomenal game viewing throughout the year. Between December and March, elephant sightings are particularly exceptional. From June to September, Sala serves as the starting point of the largest wildebeest migration. The camp also has its own resident lion pride and provides fantastic cheetah viewing opportunities.
Activities available at the camp include the seasonal wildebeest migration, open-vehicle game drives, nature walks, helicopter flights, hot-air ballooning, animal spoor tracking, birding, stargazing, and various bush dining experiences.
Activities catered to children of all ages are available, and babysitting can be arranged. The camp is also suitable for guests with limited disabilities, and special meals can be provided upon prior request.

Sala's Camp welcomes children of all ages. Two dedicated family tents (Keekorok Family Tent with Pool 2a/2b, and Forest Family Tent with Pool 3) feature two interconnected en-suite bedrooms and come with exclusive use of a private game-drive vehicle as standard — ideal for families travelling with younger children. Guests staying in the standard luxury tents (1, 4, 5, 6, 7) share vehicles with other guests, but exclusive use of a vehicle can be pre-booked at US$490 per day, subject to availability. The Forest Family Tent (3) should only be booked by families and not two couples due to the lack of privacy between the two rooms. The 3rd child rate in family tents covers ages 3–15 inclusive, but the child-sharing-on-extra-bed rate is restricted to ages 3–11 inclusive. Baby-listeners and special children's meals are available by prior arrangement.
