The Detail
Situated at the entrance gate to the Namib Naukluft Park, Sossusvlei Lodge offers direct access to the towering red sand dunes, the famous pan of Sossusvlei, the scorched black trees of Dead Vlei, and the remarkable depths of the Sesriem Canyon.
The superior accommodation units at Sossusvlei Lodge feature a patio to enjoy views over the desert landscapes, a spacious air-conditioned twin-bedded room, and a full en-suite bathroom. The standard family units feature two rooms back-to-back, connected by a lockable inter-leading door between the two private bathrooms. An elegant junior suite boasts a spacious bedroom, living area, patio with a splash pool, large bathroom, and inspiring views.
Experience the true art of hospitality with the thoughtful touch of attentive staff, contributing to a truly memorable experience. Facilities include a sparkling pool, bar, sundowner deck, beer garden, and an al fresco terrace where guests can enjoy exquisite food, award-winning wines, and magnificent views of the floodlit waterhole.
The Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre provides a range of activities, including guided excursions to Dead Vlei and Sossusvlei, Elim Dune walks, sundowner trips, hot air ballooning, scenic flights, and much more to explore the area's natural beauty.

Child rates
Max 1 child and 1 infant under 12 may share a room with two paying adults (child in a single bed, infant in a cot subject to availability). Children in their own room pay full adult rate. Meals: 0–4 years free; 5–11 years 50%; 12+ full rate.
Notable exceptions
- No minimum age is stipulated for stay or activities. The 6 Standard Rooms double as Family Units, configured as two back-to-back rooms connected by a lockable interleading door between the private bathrooms (max 2 guests per room). Interleading rooms are available, but if a child occupies a room without sharing with two paying adults they are charged the full adult rate. The Junior Suite is for adult use only and does not accommodate children. No kids' programme or babysitting is offered.

Wolwedans offers an in-room star bed experience where guests sleep out under the open night sky directly from their room. This is available at select camps and is included in the nightly rate where marked as available.
Overnight duration. Available at Desert Lodge and Dune Camp only (not Mountain View Suite, Plains Camp, or Boulders Camp). Seasonal availability: September–April recommended (May–August have very low night temperatures). Minimum 3-night stay required. Min 2. Max 10 guests.

Sleep-out hide
Desert Sleepout with Dinner Hamper & Sunrise Coffee
A dedicated desert sleepout experience at Wolwedans where guests spend the night under the stars with a dinner hamper and sunrise coffee included. This is a structurally separate sleeping experience out in the Namib desert, not in the guest's room.
Overnight duration. Min 2. Max 10 guests. Includes dinner hamper and sunrise coffee. Seasonal: available September–April (May–August not recommended due to very low night temperatures). Minimum 3-night stay required. Must be pre-booked at reservations level.
