The Lodge
Suyian Lodge sits on 17,806 hectares (around 44,000 acres) of unfenced wilderness in Laikipia, with Mt Kenya silhouetted on the horizon and the Ewaso Narok River running below. The land holds ancient kopjes, open valleys and the Rock Sanctuary at its heart, and belongs to one of Kenya's longest-standing conservation families.
The architecture takes its cues from the ground it stands on. Stone, timber and natural textures echo the terrain, and floor-to-ceiling glass pulls the view inside. It feels rooted rather than grand, more a place you settle into than a stage you perform on.
Rooms
There are 14 suites in total. Each one opens to the landscape through full-height glass, with a private plunge pool for a cool reset between drives and walks. Interiors are quiet and tactile, built around comfort rather than show.
Dining
Meals move around the lodge depending on the time of day and the mood of the group. Expect sunlit poolside lunches, shaded courtyard dinners and private tables set in the bush. The kitchen leans on fresh, seasonal cooking, and the pace is slow by design.
Activities
Days are shaped by Samburu guides who grew up on these trails. Game drives cover leopard country, open plains and riverine thickets. Walking safaris trace ancestral routes through kopje country, and camel-led journeys follow age-old paths across the valleys. Wellness, swimming and quiet time at the lodge balance the active side.
