Manta Resort nestles in the far north area of the tropical Pemba Island and is approximately 72 nautical miles north of Zanzibar. Set on a pristine white beach only meters away from the warm crystal blue waters, you can enjoy walks on the beach or dive amongst unspoilt coral reefs that teem with marine life.
Why not try our favorite tour, which includes The Underwater Room: the 8-Day Serengeti Safari & Pemba's Underwater Room.
The Standard Rooms are open-plan and feature a king-size bed covered by a mosquito net, an open-plan ensuite bathroom, an overhead fan, and a comfortable veranda that overlooks the gardens.
The four Superior Garden Rooms are paired to create inter-leading rooms, which are ideal for families or larger groups. Each room features a four-poster king-size bed draped with mosquito netting, an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, a writing desk, and a private thatched terrace with views of the sea through the foliage.
The Sea Front Villas are spacious and private, featuring a four-poster king-size bed draped with mosquito netting, an opulent ensuite bathroom with a double vanity and walk-in shower, a lounge area, and a sun terrace that faces a spectacular ocean sunset.
The highlight of Manta Resort is the unique ‘Underwater Room’, a three-story glass-fronted suite where your bedroom is four meters below water. Surrounded by glass, this room provides unrivaled views of the underwater world. At night, spotlights illuminate the reef and passing fish, offering an ever-changing but peaceful scene to drift off to.
The facilities at The Manta Resort include a lounge, restaurant, beach lounge, two-tiered swimming pool, and a spa.
The scuba diving off Pemba is truly spectacular, with visibility of 30 to 40 meters on most days and an average water temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. Scorpions Secret and Shimba Wall are some of the famous dive sites and are well-known for larger fish species such as eagle rays, Napoleon fish, GTs, and barracuda.
You can dive and snorkel on pristine reefs in total seclusion, explore this magical island with its rich history of the spice trade and the rise and fall of the Arab empire, embark on a sandbank trip at low tide, enjoy a Ngalawa sunset cruise, and wander lush tropical forests in search of monkeys and the endemic flying fox.
The Manta Resort offers numerous romantic activities for newlyweds and honeymooners while also catering to the needs of families and solo travelers.
Additionally, we recommend combining this incredible diving and snorkeling experience with a Serengeti or Masai Mara safari.
Accommodation in a Standard Garden Room, all meals, beverages (soft drinks, juices, mineral water, coffee/tea, cocktails, wines, beers, and all alcoholic beverages), spa treatments (one treatment per person, per day at the Kipepeo Spa), kayaks and snorkel equipment from the beach, WiFi internet in the main lounge area, and laundry.

Super star Mel
Mel our booking agent has been absolutely fantastic. Nothing has been too much trouble for her no matter what time of day & how big or small our enquiry has been. She was brilliant when having to relocate us from Kruger due to the flooding, it was seamless from our end.

Booking through Safari.com
Your travel consultant, Mel de Toit was excellent. She was prompt, efficient, friendly and helpful. The only confusing thing was the 2% merchant charge. It actually turned out to be a charge of close to 4% even when using ZAR currency as instructed when booking.
