Itinerary

Day 1: Johannesburg to Inyati Private Game Reserve

Your journey begins with a scheduled flight from Johannesburg to Skukuza Airport. On landing, you will be warmly greeted for a private transfer to Inyati Game Lodge, situated on the banks of the Sand River in the western sector of the private 65,000-hectare Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Sharing an unfenced border with the world-renowned Kruger National Park, animals move freely between the reserves, affording guests unforgettable game-viewing opportunities.

Settle into your room, all tastefully furnished with uninterrupted views of the African bush overlooking the Sand River. In the afternoon, you will head out with your guide and tracker for a game drive through the reserve in search of wildlife, including the Big 5. Expect an uninterrupted game-viewing experience in an untouched African wilderness. Arrive back at the lodge in time to freshen up before enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

Day 2 & 3: Activities & Relaxation

An early morning wake-up call starts the day, followed by a freshly brewed cup of tea or coffee before setting off on a morning game drive.

At Inyati, the days are designed to thrill you with intimate wildlife encounters and the nights to delight you with the indulgence and romance of the African night. There is an array of activities from game drives and guided bush walks, to stargazing, fishing, workouts at the fully-equipped gym, swimming, young rangers’ programs, and community tours.

Our qualified guiding team delivers an unrivaled wildlife experience, providing fascinating insights into the complex bio-networks of the South African bushveld. The reserve has a dense concentration of wildlife and is home to the Big 5 – elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, and buffalo. Cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wild dogs, and a vast variety of antelope and other species may also be closely observed, roaming freely within their territories. Inyati is one of the best places in the world to get up close and personal with the elusive leopard.

Later in the afternoon, you will head out on your afternoon game drive, which may continue beyond dusk, and return back to the lodge to enjoy dinner and reminisce about the day’s sightings.

Day 4: Departure

After one final game drive and a warm, heartening breakfast, you bid farewell to the African bush as you transfer back to the airport in time to catch your flight back to Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport. Here, you will connect with your onward travel arrangements.
