Your safari begins with a flight from Johannesburg. Upon arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, you'll be transferred to Lukimbi where you will check-in and freshen up. (This safari may also begin/end in Cape town with direct flights from Cape Town available.)
Enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, proceed for a thrilling sunset game drive. You'll be in an open safari vehicle with a professional guide to maximize the chances of encountering the Big Five. Enjoy a sundowner in between.
A Lukimbi safari is a unique take on a traditional Kruger National Park safari in that vehicles are permitted to traverse off-road under strictly controlled conditions. This, coupled with the fact that no more than 32 people to enjoy 15 000 hectares of pristine protected wilderness, makes for an exclusive and highly personalised close contact safari experience.
Later, you'll return to the lodge to enjoy delicious dinner options, specially prepared by experienced Chefs.

Safaris go out in the morning (just before sunrise to return in time for breakfast) and are an incomparable way to properly connect with Africa.
Hopefully, there will be a matriarchal herd of mother elephants and babies. Perhaps you'll see a savage lion kill, a majestic bull elephant, or a herd of stern-looking African buffalos. There are thrilling encounters around every corner!
Arrive back at the lodge and have breakfast. Freshen up and meet at the lodge reception for your morning bushwalk with an armed guide.
In the afternoon, have lunch at the lodge and later proceed for your safari. Late afternoon is a good time for game viewing, and guests are able to experience at first hand the amazing colours of an African sunset. Return to the lodge for dinner as an exciting day comes to an end.

In the early morning, proceed for the last game drive of your stay at Lukimbi Safari Lodge. On your return, freshen up, have a scrumptious breakfast, and check out from the lodge. You'll be transferred to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport Airport for your flight to Johannesburg.

Seems pointless to book things direct when Safari.com can do it all for you at the same cost
I wasn’t actually planning on leaving a review until after our trip which has been scheduled for March 2025. I wasn’t even planning to use a travel company to assist as we are experienced travellers who are used to booking our own arrangements. The cost of going direct with suppliers and going through Safari.com was exactly the same - with the latter you also have outstanding service and advice which makes it pointless to do it yourself. But I felt compelled to leave a shout out for Leigh-Ann Croeser who has been extremely helpful in organising our itinerary for South Africa. Her response to queries was always prompt and professional. When we ultimately wish to travel to East Africa, I know who I will be contacting.
