The Details

Location

Omaanda sits in the quiet savannahs of central Namibia, around half an hour's drive from Windhoek, inside a 22,000-acre private wildlife conservancy known as the Zannier Reserve. The landscape is classic Namibian bushveld, with open grassy plains scattered with acacia trees and shrubs.

The conservancy plays an important role in local conservation. It is managed in partnership with the N/a'an ku sê Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and the peaceful coexistence of communities and animals across Namibia. Resident wildlife includes rhino, elephant and big cats.

Rooms

Accommodation comprises Owambo-style thatched huts in two configurations. The one-bedroom huts are spacious and understated, suited to couples or small families, each with an open fireplace and a private sun terrace overlooking the bush.

The two-bedroom huts are designed for families or couples travelling together, with a living room, a generous terrace and two master bedrooms, each with its own open fireplace and en-suite bathroom.

Dining

Days begin with morning coffee served from the bonnet of a safari vehicle out in the reserve. The Ambo Delights restaurant focuses on local Namibian flavours and seasonal produce, while fireside cocktails and dinners are served at the Boma under the stars. The kitchen leans into authentic African ingredients and slow, social meals.

Activities

Safaris and excursions on the Zannier Reserve are tailored to each guest, with a private guide and vehicle. Tracking rhino, watching elephant herds at the waterhole, spotting leopard in jackalberry trees and nocturnal game drives across the savannah are all on offer, alongside guided walks and visits to the N/a'an ku sê Foundation's conservation projects.

At the lodge itself, wellness includes sunrise yoga, stargazing, an open-air infinity pool, a fitness centre and a spa offering African healing therapies and rituals designed to purify and rejuvenate.
