The Detail
Bateleur Camp is split into two camps to provide a truly intimate experience. Each camp has nine tented suites, including one family tent. The suites feature an en-suite bathroom with double vanities, a bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers, a minibar, and tea and coffee-making stations.
The lodge facilities include a lap pool, complimentary laundry, private butler service, and Wi-Fi in the public areas and tents.
Delicious meals are served in a memorable setting beneath the stars, followed by fireside port and cigars. Bush breakfasts and romantic sundowners on the edge of the Rift Valley offer an unforgettable African experience.
The Maasai Mara offers a year-round concentration of animals, including the Big Five, various antelope, Nile crocodiles, hippos, cheetahs, and bat-eared foxes, to name a few. The Maasai Mara is also center stage for the Great Wildebeest Migration, which occurs annually. Home to over 450 species of birds, the Maasai Mara is a bird lover's paradise.
Activities offered at the camp include twice-daily game drives, night drives, bush walks, hot air ballooning, and interactions with the Maasai people.
Bateleur Camp is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for an authentic tented safari experience.

Long stay
Reduced long-stay rates apply from six nights, valid across a combination of &Beyond lodges in Africa for the same guests on a single itinerary, though they are not available for travel from June to September. For a wider East African itinerary, the seven-night Fly Me Around East Africa package combines two to three nominated &Beyond camps in Kenya and Tanzania, including all inter-camp flights, one regional flight between the two countries, road transfers between airstrips and lodges, park, conservation and crater fees, meals, game drives and laundry, and is valid for travel until 10 January 2028. Airport taxes, fuel surcharges and gratuities are excluded, a single supplement applies depending on season, a group supplement may apply for parties over twelve guests, and neither the long-stay rates nor the package may be combined with other offers. A 20 per cent saving is also offered on the accommodation of guests celebrating a significant birthday or wedding anniversary, valid for travel from 1 September to 20 December 2026, 11 January to 19 March 2027, 2 April to 30 June 2027 and 1 September to 20 December 2027, booked on the one to three night rate with identification or a wedding certificate required; it applies only to the room the milestone guests occupy and cannot be combined with other offers or long-stay rates.
Family
Children under five years sharing with one or two adults stay free of charge, and children of six to sixteen years sharing with one or two adults pay 50 per cent of the adult rate. Children of six to sixteen in their own room pay the adult rate for the first child, with the second and third children at 50 per cent, subject to triple room availability. The offer applies to standard rates and not to Family Tents, and age is taken at the time of travel, with guests of seventeen and over charged the full adult rate.

Game drives: standard minimum age is 6, with 6–11 year-olds at the Lodge Manager's discretion; children under 6 are not permitted on standard game drives, though dedicated children's drives may be requested for 3–5 year-olds. If a private 4x4 vehicle is booked (pre-booked, subject to availability, additional cost), children of any age may join game drives, with access to sightings at the guide's discretion based on the behaviour of both child and animals. Nature walks: 6–15 year-olds are not permitted on walks outside lodge grounds (at Lodge Manager's/Guide's discretion); walks are only open to guests 16 and older. The Family Tent comprises two tents in close proximity linked by an enclosed walkway, accommodating max 2 adults + 2 children (3 children on request at additional cost). Childminders/babysitting at USD 5 per child per hour, payable directly to the lodge, must be booked on day of arrival.

Village visit
Maasai Village Visit
Guests are guided through a Maasai village by an English-speaking Maasai resident who introduces them to the authentic daily life of the community. The visit includes an opportunity to browse and purchase artefacts and souvenirs from the Maasai Craft Centre, with all proceeds returned to the community. A 20-minute transfer each way is required.

Maasai Dancers
Tall Maasai warriors in traditional dress form a guard of honour as guests arrive, performing deep vocal harmonies and their iconic athletic jumping dances in a live cultural performance. This is charged only for private functions.
