The Details
As the Fish River Lodge is situated on the rim of the Fish River Canyon, it makes for the best location to view the second-largest canyon in the world. This allows direct access to one of Africa's top treks, serving adventurous travelers with a rewarding multi-day journey through the heart of the canyon.

Child rates
Children 0–5 free of charge sharing with adults. Children 6–12 charged 50% of adult rate per night (sharing) and 50% of activities. Children 13+ charged full adult rate.
Notable exceptions
- All ages accepted to stay and on game drives, but the camp is unfenced on the edge of the Fish River Canyon (lodge and chalets sit just 5–8 m from the canyon rim) with dangerous wildlife including crocodiles — children must be under constant adult supervision, walking unaccompanied is prohibited, a staff escort is required after dark, and river access is only with a guide. The Canyon Hike (both half-day and full-day options, available 1 Apr–30 Sep) does not allow children under 16. The camp reserves the right to refuse accommodation if a child's presence may compromise safety or the experience of other guests. Family rooms (double plus up to two singles, cots by pre-arrangement) are offered on request via reservations.
