Witness the incredible wildlife of the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Park from the luxurious Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp. Beloved by even the most discerning travelers, the camp sets the tone for an unforgettable safari experience with sweeping views of the Maasai Mara and the Sabaringo River. Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp is the ideal place to witness the Great Migration and river crossings along the foothills of the Oloololo Escarpment.
Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp prides itself on offering luxurious accommodations paired with warm Kenyan hospitality. The camp features 12 classic tents, 20 superior tents, and 8 superior view tents, including 3 family suites. The twelve Classic Tents overlook the forest and have limited views of the Sabaringo River. The twenty Superior Tents provide slightly obstructed views of the Maasai Mara through the surrounding forest trees, while the eight Superior View Tents offer unrivaled views of the plains.
Each of the luxurious tents features a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, bathrobes, a hairdryer, an in-room safe, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and a deck with comfortable chairs.
The three Family Suites comprise two interconnected tents with an en-suite bathroom, a private veranda overlooking the bushveld, and can accommodate two adults and two children.
Camp facilities include a comfortable lounge area, dining room, bar, safari shop, and a swimming pool.
The Maasai Mara is one of Kenya's premier game parks, boasting one of the world's largest concentrations of animals—home to almost 100 different species. These include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, hippos, wildebeests, crocodiles, gazelles, and rhinos, to name just a few. It is also a perfect destination for bird watching, with over 500 bird species recorded in the park.
Explore the Maasai Mara with daily open-vehicle game drives led by professional guides. Night drives offer opportunities to see nocturnal animals; guided bush walks provide up-close encounters with the diverse fauna, flora, and smaller creatures of the African bush. Other experiences include early morning hot air balloon rides over the reserve, horseback safaris, spa treatments, traditional Maasai warrior dancing displays, and visits to a nearby Maasai village.

Stay & Pay
Stay four nights at Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp and pay for only three, a saving of 25 per cent, with the complimentary night applied to the final night. Available for travel from 1 November to 20 December 2026, and again from 11 January to 30 April 2027 and 1 November to 20 December 2027. All four nights must be spent at Kichwa Tembo in the same room type; the offer cannot be combined with long-stay rates or other offers on those four nights, although further nights may be added on long-stay rates.
Long stay
Reduced long-stay rates apply to stays of six nights or more, with a further modest reduction already applied from four nights. Long-stay rates are not available for travel from June to September and cannot be combined with any other offer. Guests staying four nights at Kichwa Tembo between 1 November and 20 December 2026, or 11 January to 31 May 2027, 1 November to 20 December 2027 and 1 to 10 January 2028, also receive complimentary return flights between Wilson Airport in Nairobi and the Masai Mara; this applies to full-paying adults booked on the one to three night rate, excludes airport taxes and requires a minimum of two guests, rising to four guests for afternoon flights in low season.
Family
Children aged two and under, and those aged three to five, stay free of charge when sharing with one or two adults, while children aged six to sixteen are charged 50 per cent of the adult rate when sharing. Where children occupy their own room, the first child pays the adult rate and the second and third children pay 50 per cent, subject to triple room availability, with a maximum of three children per room. Guests aged seventeen and over are charged as adults, and minimum ages apply to game drives and nature walks.

Family Tents accommodate 2 adults + 2 children (3 on request, additional cost in 2027) and are charged per tent rather than per person. A single supplement applies when an adult shares with an infant. Game drives: children aged 3–5 are not permitted on shared vehicles, but additional dedicated children's drives may be requested, and on a paid private vehicle children of any age may join game drives at the guide's discretion. Nature walks: children 6–15 may not walk outside lodge grounds (short walks within grounds at Lodge Manager's/Guide's discretion); 16+ allowed on full nature walks.

Village visit
Maasai Village Visit
Guests are guided through a local Maasai village by an English-speaking Maasai who lives there. The guide introduces visitors to the authentic daily life of the Maasai community. Guests can also browse and purchase artefacts and souvenirs from the Maasai Craft Centre, with all proceeds returned to the community.

Maasai Dancers
Tall Maasai warriors in traditional dress perform a guard of honour upon guest arrival, followed by a traditional singing and dance performance featuring the distinctive high-jumping athletic displays characteristic of Maasai culture.
