  • The chalets are nicely furnished and cozy, and the outdoor showers add to the overall experience.
  • Tracking the Big Five on foot, accompanied by experienced field guides.

You Should Know

  • Children aged 5 years and older are accepted.

  • Children between the ages of 5 and 16 will be taken on morning game drives or "bumbles" (depending on their age) while their parents enjoy walking safaris.

The Detail

Bordering the Timbavati Game Reserve and Kruger National Park, the Klaserie Game Reserve is hot and dry for most of the year. The reserve's rustic and sparse vegetation is complemented by refreshing summer rains, the Klaserie River, and 60,000 hectares of rugged, striking scenery.

Whether it's a cozy sleep-out under the starlit night sky or the exclusive use of trained, helpful safari guides with intimate knowledge of the local fauna and flora, Africa on Foot offers a fantastic and luxurious lodge experience for the whole family.

Taking its name and much of its character from the area's fantastic walking safari opportunities, Africa on Foot also boasts a team of charming staff, warm service, comfortable accommodation in rustic chalet units, and the lodge's resident buffalo, Bruce.

Africa on Foot Camp provides accommodation in any of its five rustic chalets, as well as a fully furnished treehouse.

Adventurous guests can stay in the Treehouse, which features twin beds for up to four guests, a lounge area on the first floor, and an outdoor bathroom and shower.

Guests at Africa on Foot Camp can enjoy safaris twice a day in open 4x4 vehicles, under the supervision of a team of trained and eager game rangers who add a sense of familiarity to the otherwise wild experience. Night drives offer an additional, thrilling dimension with spotlights illuminating the darkness.

For a more hands-on experience, the popular game walks allow guests to enjoy a "ground-level" perspective of the park.

Africa on Foot's facilities include a swimming pool with a beautiful sundeck, braai (barbecue) facilities, an outdoor boma, and coffee and tea-making facilities.

Klaserie Game Reserve is known for its free-ranging, extensive antelope populations, as well as exciting Big Five wildlife (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo) and vast bird populations that are sure to thrill any wildlife enthusiast.

"Lindi Weeks has been assisting us in planning a 4 day safari in the Klaserie Game Reserve. She has been so amazing, assisting us so beautifully with all the decisions to be made. She fell ill with tonsilitis and not even this stopped her from taking calls to answer all our silly questions, even after hours!! We thank you, Lindi and appreciate you. Onika Amell"
