Why
Klaserie Nature Reserve is forms part of the Greater Kruger Park. The Reserve is a year-round safari destination, offering incredible sightings of wildlife including the Big Five.
The Klaserie Nature Reserve is one of the largest privately owned reserves in Southern Africa, covering 60 000 hectares of pristine wilderness that provides sanctuary to an abundance of wildlife which includes 145 mammal species, 118 reptile species, more than 30 amphibians, and over 400 bird species. Elephant herds, impala and kudu are regular visitors along the river banks, with extraordinary birdlife.
The walking safaris of Klaserie are a highlight for most visitors eager to gain a better understanding of the African bushveld.
When
The dry winter months of May through September are the best time for a trip to Klaserie. Wildlife viewing is superb as rivers and waterholes become gathering places for animals. The wildlife viewing improves as the dry season wears on. This fact, coupled with warmer weather, makes September an excellent time to visit.
