Bateleur Camp is located in the lush forests of the world-renowned Masai Mara in Kenya where you can experience elegance amidst the diverse wildlife of Narok County. Bateleur Camp provides a truly memorable Masai Mara experience through its luxurious facilities, attentive service, and lush surroundings.

The Detail
Bateleur Camp is split into two camps to provide a truly intimate experience. Each camp has nine tented suites, including one family tent. The suites feature an en-suite bathroom with double vanities, a bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers, a minibar, and tea and coffee-making stations.
The lodge facilities include a lap pool, complimentary laundry, private butler service, and Wi-Fi in the public areas and tents.
Delicious meals are served in a memorable setting beneath the stars, followed by fireside port and cigars. Bush breakfasts and romantic sundowners on the edge of the Rift Valley offer an unforgettable African experience.
The Maasai Mara offers a year-round concentration of animals, including the Big Five, various antelope, Nile crocodiles, hippos, cheetahs, and bat-eared foxes, to name a few. The Maasai Mara is also center stage for the Great Wildebeest Migration, which occurs annually. Home to over 450 species of birds, the Maasai Mara is a bird lover's paradise.
Activities offered at the camp include twice-daily game drives, night drives, bush walks, hot air ballooning, and interactions with the Maasai people.
Bateleur Camp is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for an authentic tented safari experience.

0–2 yrs sharing: free (cot subject to availability). 3–5 yrs sharing: free (triple room subject to availability). 6–16 yrs sharing: 50% of adult rate. 6–16 yrs in own room: 1st child at adult rate, 2nd & 3rd at 50%. 17+ full adult rate. Triple rooms max 2 adults + 1 child ≤16. Single supplement applies when an adult shares with an infant.
Notable exceptions
- Game drives: standard minimum age is 6, with 6–11 year-olds at the Lodge Manager's discretion; children under 6 are not permitted on standard game drives, though dedicated children's drives may be requested for 3–5 year-olds. If a private 4x4 vehicle is booked (pre-booked, subject to availability, additional cost), children of any age may join game drives, with access to sightings at the guide's discretion based on the behaviour of both child and animals. Nature walks: 6–15 year-olds are not permitted on walks outside lodge grounds (at Lodge Manager's/Guide's discretion); walks are only open to guests 16 and older. The Family Tent comprises two tents in close proximity linked by an enclosed walkway, accommodating max 2 adults + 2 children (3 children on request at additional cost). Childminders/babysitting at USD 5 per child per hour, payable directly to the lodge, must be booked on day of arrival.

Village visit
Maasai Village Visit
Guests are guided through a Maasai village by an English-speaking Maasai resident who introduces them to the authentic daily life of the community. The visit includes an opportunity to browse and purchase artefacts and souvenirs from the Maasai Craft Centre, with all proceeds returned to the community. A 20-minute transfer each way is required.

Cultural experience
Maasai Dancers
Tall Maasai warriors in traditional dress form a guard of honour as guests arrive, performing deep vocal harmonies and their iconic athletic jumping dances in a live cultural performance. This is charged only for private functions.
