The Detail
&Beyond Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp is located in a 61,775-acre exclusive wildlife concession on the edge of the Okavango Delta, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Ideally positioned to explore the splendor of the Okavango, the camp is known for its elegant tented accommodation, which boasts breathtaking views of the ever-changing Delta. Blending skillfully with the environment, nine exclusive tented suites, set on raised wooden platforms, are tucked beneath a canopy of ebony trees.
Each spacious tent features a luxurious bed that faces the beautiful views of a reed-filled floodplain, an ensuite bathroom with an indoor and open-air shower, and a sprawling veranda with a comfortable sitting area and a private sala. A family tent, consisting of two luxury tents joined by a walkway, provides the perfect setting for families to enjoy the wonders of the Delta.
Activities include day and night game drives, guided bush walks, walking with Bushmen excursions, bird watching, a children’s program that incorporates treasure hunts and other explorative activities, fishing trips along hippo trails amongst the Delta grasses (seasonal), motorized boat excursions (seasonal), and mokoro excursions. A traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) ride reveals the intricate details of the glistening waterways, home to iridescent dragonflies, multicolored frogs, and jewel-like kingfishers nestled along the papyrus-lined banks.
Lion, cheetah, leopard, and African wild dog roam the floodplains alongside large herds of elephant and buffalo. Hippos inhabit the deeper channels and lagoons, while honey badgers are often spotted during the day. Towering termite mounds serve as homes for families of dwarf and banded mongooses.

Child rates
0–2 years sharing with adults: free of charge (cots subject to availability). 3–5 years sharing with adults: free of charge (triple rooms subject to availability). 6–16 years sharing with adults: 50% of full adult rate. 6–16 years in own room: 1st child at adult rate, 2nd & 3rd child at 50% of adult rate (max 3 children per room). Children 5 and younger do not qualify for Fly Me offers. Single supplement applies when an adult shares with an infant under 6.
Notable exceptions
- All ages are welcome to stay at the camp. Standard minimum age on game drives is 6, with children aged 6–11 admitted at the Lodge Manager's discretion. Booking a private vehicle (at additional cost) allows children of any age on game drives, with sighting access at the guide's discretion based on the behaviour of both child and animals; greater distances may be observed or certain sightings avoided for safety. Boating from age 12; mokoro and guided bush walks strictly 16+. The triple room at Nxabega only allows children under 12 (vs under 16 at sister camp Sandibe) to share with 2 adults. All ages are accommodated on game drive/boat transfers to-and-from the lodge regardless of activity age restrictions. Childminders are available but must be booked on the day of arrival (USD 5 per child per hour, payable at the lodge). The Family Tent comprises 2 tents in close proximity linked by an enclosed walkway, taking max 2 adults + 2 children (3 children on request at additional cost).
