The Detail
The award-winning lodge was named after the Selati railway line, which was used to transport gold found in the Drakensberg escarpment. The railway bed can still be seen nearby, and the lodge pays tribute to this era with a historic railway theme, featuring original steam engine nameplates, signals, shunter’s lamps, and collectible pieces.
Accommodation at Selati is provided in seven luxury thatched suites. Each suite features a full en-suite bathroom, a private outdoor area complete with an outdoor shower, a lounge area, an in-room safe, tea and coffee-making facilities, a ceiling fan, air conditioning, a minibar, and romantic oil lantern lighting at night.
The Lourenco Marques Honeymoon Suite
The Lourenco Marques Honeymoon Suite has a king-size bed and features both indoor and outdoor bathtubs and showers. Couples celebrating special occasions are treated with champagne, in-suite dining, and petal-laced beds.
The Ivory Presidential Suite
The Ivory Presidential Suite is fit for kings and queens, featuring a four-poster king-size bed, a private patio, a fireplace, indoor and outdoor bathtubs and showers, and a private plunge pool. The suite also comes with a private safari vehicle.
The lodge facilities include a lounge area with a fireplace, a bar, a boma, a swimming pool, Wi-Fi access, and access to the Amani Spa and boutique shop.
Guests at Selati Camp can enjoy a variety of activities and planned outings. Daily dawn and dusk game drives are conducted in open safari vehicles, led by skilled rangers and Shangaan trackers. Additionally, informative and hands-on guided game walks are conducted after breakfast, offering guests a unique and immersive experience of the park and its inhabitants.
