You Should Know

 Children: Children of all ages are welcome at Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge. Childminders are available but must be booked on the day of arrival. A rate of USD 5 per hour is payable at the lodge. Children 5 years and younger cannot participate in game drives or nature walks. Children aged 6 to 11 can participate in game drives at the lodge manager’s discretion. Children aged 16 and over can participate in nature walks.

 Children's Program: Designed especially for children visiting &Beyond’s lodges, WILDchild is filled with fun, interactive activities that offer opportunities to learn and discover new experiences and cultures. Upon arrival at &Beyond Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp, each child will receive a WILDchild-branded bag containing a logbook, crayons, pencils, and a pawprint tattoo. There is a personalized welcome note for every child, and those under three will receive an African-themed soft toy as well.

The Details

 Set in a cool forest canopy of wild palms and gnarled fig trees, &Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge overlooks spectacular Delta views. Behind the lodge, golden-grassed floodplains stretch into the distance, framed by lush palm islands and the spires of giant termite mounds. The beautiful organic architecture of the lodge blends seamlessly with one of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes. Drawing inspiration from nature, &Beyond Sandibe is serene and earthy.

 Twelve elegant and intimate suites are raised above the papyrus, resembling the nests of golden weaver birds, and feature magnificent Delta views as well as private plunge pools, cozy fireplaces, and secluded nooks. At night, the rooms become cocoons with fireplaces for winter use.

 Interiors celebrate Botswana craftsmanship with pieces that include copper-clad mekoro, basketware, and sculpted wooden tables. An interactive kitchen showcases succulent Botswana beef, artisanal breads, and pizzas, while a beautifully situated massage sala offers a selection of relaxing massages in a spectacular natural setting. The lodge combines a stunning natural location with an unusual yet beautiful design.

 &Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge offers some of the best game viewing in the Delta. Guests set off in search of wildlife in the early morning and late afternoon. Situated on the edge of the Delta, the game viewing areas at Sandibe remain accessible throughout the year regardless of rising water levels. Game viewing here is remote and secluded, with very few vehicles sharing the private concession. Sensitive off-road driving practices provide guests with up-close encounters of the area’s exceptional wildlife.

 Afternoon drives extend into the evening for the chance to observe nocturnal wildlife, including leopard and serval. Lions, which frequently hunt at night, may also be spotted feeding on a kill.

 Other activities available at Sandibe include bush walks, a children's programme, and scenic helicopter flights (additional costs apply for flights).
