Our visit to Singita Sweni was amazing! From the moment we stepped off the plane we were well looked after. All staff outdid themselves to make sure we had the best time. Our tracker and ranger Clement and Howard, went above and beyond to track the big 5 and we even walked amongst the rhinos!!! They were so knowledgeable about the animals and the park in general. The food at the lodge was better than 5 star dining. The rooms themselves were even better than in the photos, every little detail was addressed to top off the experience. The Hippos were also playing in the river in the mornings which added to the experience. I'll never forget this safari and adventure. Super luxurious and well worth the investment. Loved every minute of it!!!!

My wife and I spent two nights at Singita Sweni. This was our first safari, our first time in Africa, and our honeymoon - and we wanted it to be amazing. It was. Built to embrace the landscape of the Kruger, the lodge is simply stunning, throw in the candle light dinners, the star lit skies, the great food, the bomba, the beauty of the Kruger and all of that adds up. The design of the lodge and rooms makes you feel a part of the bush whilst still keeping you in the lap of luxury. But what makes it truly stand out are the people. Between Irene, Lucky, and Trust we were treated so well and taken aback by how much extra they go just to bring a smile to your face. Hot water bottles after a cold game drive in the sun, drawn bubble baths, then remembering offhand comments and preparing a bed to sleep under the stars, petals on the bed,.. I can go on. I guess no better compliment could be given but to say that when we left we felt we were leaving friends behind.. (after two days)The game drives themselves were also extremely enjoyable. We saw 3 of the big 5, zebra, giraffe, hippos, crocodiles, so many birds (each more beautiful than the rest), etc. The highlights being 4 male lions seen in the dark - one of them limping, hurt badly after a fight and being led by its brother. The other highlight was a giraffe being devoured by a pack of 10 hyenas and over 100 vultures reminding you that despite the safety of a vehicle you were very much in the wild, Our guide Colin and tracker Andrew were great, they were knowledgeable, very companionable, funny and did their best to make our game drives memorable.I can keep coming up with adjectives to describe the place but none of them is the same as having been there and letting them spoil your idea of what hospitality is.

My wife and I visited Sweni Lodge for 2 nights in late October transferring over from Ebony Lodge on the second stage of our holiday. Ebony Lodge was going to be difficult for anyone to follow, but Sweni Lodge gave them a good run for their money and certainly delivered, so much so that my wife and I regretted that we could not have stayed longer.Having stayed at Ebony Lodge for 4 nights previously, witnessed the big 5 and been totally spoilt, we felt that we were now safari experts – seen it, been it done it and got the tee-shirt. Our guide and tracker Danie and Exon stood no chance. We could not have been more wrong if we tried. As usual nature coughed up new and varied experiences, and Danie in particular provided a different perspective and insight on some of the animals that we had already seen at Ebony. Highlights (following on from our experience at Ebony) included the numerous lions that we saw, the rock python, the scorpion and the waterbucks at sunset. As noted in other reviews the accommodation and hospitality are excellent. The accommodation is modern, fully glazed with a choice of 3 showers and two toilets with a balcony overlooking the river and hippos below. We had the option of either sleeping inside or outside on the balcony beneath the stars, which we did on the first night, fully protected by mosquito nets. The ladies of Sweni Lodge gave us a warm welcome and made sure that we had a fabulous stay. We were impressed that Ebony Lodge had contacted them in advance and that they had noted and briefed the staff on our particular preferences. We cannot leave this review without special mention to all the staff at Sweni Lodge who were outstanding, in particular:-• Danie and Exon – for an awesome time. • Angelique and Irene (star of the Sinigita coffee table book) for always making sure we were being looked after. • Thabile, our butler, for looking after us and for dancing with my wife at the bomar. (Irene – your absence from the dancing was duly noted just as much as and Beauties’ dancing was also a revelation) • Lucky for her sparkling personality and providing my wife with her brandy nightcap.Thank you and hope to see you all again soon.

We spent three nights in this Singita property and had a visual treat of visiting animals in their house. The property has six residences that represent complete luxury with an amazing staff that catered to as well as anticipated every need. What can we say that has not been said by others.....a flawless experience including wonderful dining overlooking the river. We hugged the staff as we departed, for in a short period of time, they became family The guide and tracker were excellent to boot. Quite possible the best experience that could be had anywhere.

After staying at some of the top places in South Africa for our honeymoon (Kensington Place, Delaire Graff and Singita Ebony), Singita Sweni was pretty much the only way to match what we'd already experienced. With our standards already pretty high, Sweni managed to once again exceed them! I didn't really understand how the safari experience would differ between Ebony and Sweni, but it was really amazing to experience both.First, while Ebony was traditional and rustic, Sweni was much more modern. We loved the decor of the rooms, the amazing glass walls and views, and the privacy. The food was just as amazing as our Ebony experience and once again, we pretty much never stopped eating! Even when we missed a breakfast because of an extended game drive to go see a cheetah family, the staff surprised us with a picnic lunch on a cliff overlooking Kruger. The game drives in Kruger were even more amazing than in Sabi Sands. The larger blocks made tracking harder, but there were just so many more animals roaming around that we constantly had amazing sightings. If you really want to see the big five, make sure to go to Kruger. And, there's really nothing that can top the Sweni experience.

We booked one of the most beautiful trips we've ever had through Safari.com. The service was excellent and uncomplicated. They catered to special requests, booked additional flights, and the accommodation (Simbavati River Lodge) was simply unbelievably beautiful. Our expectations were far exceeded, and we can only recommend Safari.com. We will definitely book our next vacation through Safari.com and recommend it to our friends. Many thanks, Nelia & Catherine!
