Mathyholweni Rest Camp
A SANParks self-catering camp.
North-east of Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) lies the small town of Colchester where you will find the entrance to the southern part of the Addo Elepahnt national Park and the reclusive satellite camp - Mathyholweni, named after the isiXhosa phrase meaning "in the bush"
We do not take rest camp bookings. Camps are booked directly with SANParks, where current tariffs are published.

Accommodation
Two bed Cottages with two single beds, an equipped kitchen(fridge microwave), DSTV (limited channels), WC and shower, barbeque facilities. Check-in is done at Matyholweni.
Three bed Cottages with queen size bed as well as a sleeper couch, sleeping up to three adults or two adults and two children. These cottages have an equipped kitchen(fridge microwave), DSTV (limited channels), WC and shower, barbeque facilities. Check-in is done at Matyholweni.
Activities & Facilities
Visitors staying in the Mathyolweni Camp can enjoy wildlife viewing in their own vehicles during the opening hours of the park's game gate. Gate times vary according to season.
Guided Game drives only depart from the main camp.
In the nearby town of Colchester/Cannonville, roughly three kilometers away there are facilities including a supermarket, fuel station, and various restaurants.

We do not take rest camp bookings. What our safari specialists do arrange is the Eastern Cape's private game reserves: private lodges where expert guiding, meals and game drives are included, and nothing is left to the camp kitchen. We look after international travellers and SADC residents alike, and many lodges offer reduced SADC rates.
