The Details
The location of the Serengeti Under Canvas camp changes with the movements of the Great Migration, an annual spectacle of over 2 million mammals migrating to safer feeding grounds.
Serengeti Under Canvas is positioned to be part of all the action that unfolds with the Great Migration. Experience a classic safari and immerse yourself in the wonder of the Serengeti.
Each private campsite includes nine charming Tents, including one Family Tent. They feature comfortable beds, hot bucket showers, flush toilets, and Wi-Fi access.
The guest areas include a dedicated lounge and dining tent complete with couches, Indian rugs, polished brass accents, chandeliers, silverware, and crystal. The Serengeti Under Canvas camp stands out as an exceptional tented safari camp in Tanzania with its prime location, unique décor, and private butler service.
Enjoy a privately guided Great Migration experience in 4x4 safari vehicles. The location of the camp allows for sightings of seasonal Grumeti and Mara River crossings, as well as the wildebeest calving season at Ndutu. The reserve also offers exceptional resident game, big cat sightings, and unique wildlife, including topi, kongoni, and Thompson's gazelle.
Other activities to enjoy during your stay include stargazing, hot air ballooning, and day trips to Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands (seasonally available).

Stay & Pay
Stay four nights and pay for only three, with the complimentary night applied to the final night of the stay. Available for travel from 1 November to 20 December 2026, and again from 11 January to 30 April 2027 and 1 November to 20 December 2027. All four nights must be taken at this camp, the offer applies to all tent types, and it cannot be combined with long-stay rates or other offers over the same four nights; further nights may be added at long-stay rates.
Long stay
Reduced long-stay rates apply to stays of four to five nights, with a further reduction for six nights or more; the six-night tier is not available for travel from June to September. Long-stay rates may be spread across a combination of &Beyond lodges in Africa for the same guests on a single itinerary, subject to seasonal availability, and cannot be combined with other offers. Multi-camp journeys are also available as privately guided or fly-in itineraries of seven nights across two to three properties in Tanzania, or across Kenya and Tanzania with inter-camp flights included, each covering park and camping fees, meals, game drives, laundry and emergency medical evacuation cover.
Family
Children aged 6 to 16 sharing with one or two adults pay 50 per cent of the adult rate; where children occupy their own room, the first child pays the adult rate and the second and third pay 50 per cent, subject to triple-room availability. Guests aged 17 and over are charged as adults, and these rates do not apply to the Family Tent. The camp accepts no children under 6 years of age and no more than four children in-house at any one time.
Bush & beach
A three-night extension at &Beyond Mnemba Island may be added to a Serengeti Under Canvas safari, including accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, house wines and spirits, laundry, snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding, a sundowner dhow cruise, daily yoga, two dives a day for certified divers, and one flight leg between Arusha, Manyara or Nairobi and Zanzibar with shared transfers to the island. Valid for travel to 10 January 2027, with rates on request thereafter. Infrastructure tax and conservation levy are payable in addition, child rates apply to those aged 6 to 16, and the extension cannot be combined with other offers.

One partner pays the full accommodation rate while the other partner pays 50% of the accommodation rate for the entire stay. The rate and honeymoon discount are based on the 1–3-night rate. A minimum 2-night stay is required, and guests must travel within 6 months of their date of marriage. Proof of marriage must be supplied. Not applicable to Family Suites, Family Cottages or Family Tents, and may not be combined with other offers or Long Stay rates. Valid 11 Jan – 20 Dec 2027.

Serengeti Under Canvas enforces a stricter minimum age (6) than the general &Beyond policy. No more than 4 children can be accommodated in-house at any given time. Game drives 6–11 are at the Lodge Manager's discretion in a shared vehicle; booking a paid private vehicle allows children of any age on game drive, with sighting access at the guide's discretion. Walking safaris remain adults-only (16+).
