The Detail
andBeyond Tengile River Lodge is a brand-new luxury safari property situated in the prestigious Sabi Sand Game Reserve in South Africa.
This eco-friendly lodge is built from sustainable materials and combines electricity and solar energy to reduce consumption. To minimize the impact on the environment, the beautiful suites are elevated off the ground and constructed from thatch, stone, and timber, blending seamlessly with the natural bushveld surroundings. The use of glass windows and doors in the suite creates an openness to the surrounding riverine forest.
These nine spacious Suites feature elegant bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms equipped with indoor and outdoor showers, outdoor sunken lounges, air conditioning, private viewing decks, and lap pools.
The lodge facilities include an indoor dining area, a wrap-around patio with various seating areas, an outdoor campfire area, a private lap pool, a safari shop, a spa, a gym, and Wi-Fi access in the main area and suites.
During your stay at the lodge, you can look forward to early morning and evening game drives in the private Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which is famous for its big cat sightings and Africa's Big Five. Guided bushwalks afford up-close encounters with the fauna, flora, and the smaller wondrous creatures of the African bush. With over 300 bird species recorded, the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is a bird-watching paradise.

For guests travelling within 6 months of their marriage, one partner pays the full accommodation rate while the other partner pays 50% of the accommodation rate for the entire stay. A minimum 2-night stay is required, and a marriage certificate must be supplied. Tengile-specific 2026 rate sheets and T&Cs are more restrictive than the general &Beyond South Africa child policy: no children under 12 are permitted at the lodge unless exclusive use of the entire lodge is booked. Under exclusive-use bookings, children of any age may be accepted and may join activities (including game drives) at guide/manager discretion, with vehicle use and safety key considerations. A private vehicle (ZAR 23,000 per vehicle per night, booked for the entire stay, never guaranteed unless 6 full-paying guests) also enables children of any age on game drives per general &Beyond policy. The Family Suite (2 suites linked by an enclosed walkway, not directly interleading) is capped at max 2 adults + 2 children aged 12–16 years. Childminders must be booked on arrival day at ZAR 120 per child per hour. Children must be supervised at all times (unfenced lodge).
