Discover the beauty of South Africa on a 9-day tour that explores one of the best cities in the world, scenic wine country, and a pristine big five game reserve.

Overview

Starting off in the city of Cape Town you will have the opportunity to truly experience the life of a Capetonian, with its brightly colored houses, artisan shops, streetside cafes, and award-winning restaurants. Cape Town boasts an incredibly rich heritage, gorgeous coastlines, and is home to the iconic Table Mountain - a natural wonder. Your time in Cape Town is best spent exploring the cobbled streets, sampling Capetonian cuisine, seeing an African penguin up-close, and simply admiring the gorgeous vistas.

Your adventure continues in one of the most renowned wine country regions - Franschhoek. It is here where you can indulge in the finest cuisine paired perfectly with award-winning wines. The Franschhoek Valley is renowned for producing outstanding Méthode Cap Classiques with a total of twenty-four producers. The oldest Cape-Dutch home known as Babylonstoren will be your abode for the next two days. Being a working farm, you can look forward to wine tastings, tea rituals, and garden to table dining experiences.

Leaving the country behind, your journey continues to the renowned Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, where you will have the opportunity to explore the African bush in open safari vehicles and on foot. The Sabi Sands is well known for its big cat sightings and incredible encounters with the famous big five. It is also a bird lovers paradise with over 300 bird species recorded. Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp offers an intimate bush setting and incredible comfort, making for an unforgettable safari experience.

The unique locations, personalized service, and once in a lifetime experiences offered on this tour make it ideal for solo explorers, couples and families.

Itinerary

Day 1 - 3: Cape Town

Today you arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you will be met and transferred by road to your guest house. After checking in to your gorgeous room, you will have the next few days to explore Cape Town.

Included in the tour price is a half day Cape Town city tour and a full day Cape Peninsula tour which collectively visit some of Cape Town's most popular tourist attractions, including Table Mountain and Boulders Beach.

Cape Town has something for everyone, including shark cage diving, hiking, kayaking, and cultural tours to name but a few. It would be best to consult with your travel expert for more information on the various tour options.

Accommodation: Welgelegen Boutique Guest House

Day 4 - 5: Franschhoek

After a sumptuous breakfast, you gather your belongs and transfer by road to Babylonstoren where you will check in and enjoy the rest of the afternoon either exploring the farm or nearby wine estates. Franschhoek offers the experience of wine trams, horseriding, cheese and wine tastings, chocolatiers, fine dining restaurants, boutiques, museums, and monuments. Your time in Franschhoek is free for you to enjoy as you wish.

Nothing tastes better than meals prepared from fresh ingredients picked directly from the garden. Babylonstoren has its own fruit and vegetable garden which supplies both the Babel and Greenhouse restaurants. Their menus are truly inspiring and the food is out of this world, so be sure to dine there at least once during your stay.

Accommodation: Babylonstoren

Day 6 - 8: Sabi Sabi Game Reserve

After a hearty breakfast and perhaps one last walk around the farm, you bid farewell to the wine country and transfer back to Cape Town International Airport for your scheduled flight to Skukuza Airport. During your stay at Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp, you will embark on exhilarating dawn and dusk open-vehicle game drives led by highly trained guides and trackers who are passionate about wildlife and conservation. You also have the opportunity to explore the bush on foot, learning about the fauna and flora that make up this pristine wilderness.

Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp allows you to savor African-inspired cuisine, outdoor dining under the African sky, and conversations around the campfire.

Outstanding and professional performance by Pascal John
Pascal John quickly proved his professionalism as well as his in-depth and experienced knowledge of South Africa safaris. He demonstrated the ability to rapidly understand what I was looking for out of a safari trip and how to make that happen. He added real value to the process with his connections to lodging reservations at various lodges and arranged for an itinerary that is not possible to accomplish by oneself on the internet alone. For example, he was able to negotiate away for me a single supplement. He added immediate value and quickly/painlessly everything came together. This includes booking flights, ground transport, lodging and wildlife drives. I can without reservation recommend working with Pascal John at Safari.com.
