Why

Your wild Namibia safari awaits

Namibia is one of the most unique and lesser known safari destinations of Africa. Whilst the Namib desert and famous sand dunes are frequently visited by travellers from across the globe, there are a multitude of incredible experiences in Namibia that provide ample reason to plan a trip solely to this destination, or combine it with your visit to other destinations in Southern Africa.

Namibia is also famous for self drive safaris due to the good road system and relatively small size of the country, self drive and 4x4 enthusiasts have a deep affinity for the sceninc dunes and drives that Namibia offers to those that grace their shores. Short stay fly in safaris are also an option for those that are simply looking for a taste of the destination or are limited on time.

Highlights:

- Hot air ballooning over the Namib desert

- Sossusvlei sand dune exploration

- Quad biking in the namib desert

- Whales, seals and dolphins off the coast

When

Namibia is a great year-round destination, but the best game viewing, especially in the Etosha National Park, is from May to October whenthe weather is clear and dry and wildlife flock to watering holes. From November to April, some days will be humid and rain may follow, often in afternoon thunderstorms. It can be trickier to see animals as they tend to scatter then and not congregate around watering holes.

Traveller tip: Make sure you have adequate sun protection, even in the winter months. So pack a hat and lots of sunblock!

Where

A Modern City with a Rich Heritage

With its location right next to the international airport, Windhoek is a friendly, safe and clean capital city to set up base. Windhoek has a range of high-end hotels, boutique hotels, and small lodges to check-in to before starting out on a Namibia adventure.

Must see: The National Museum of Namibia and St. Mary’s Catholic Church which is still active
