Leokwe Camp is Mapungubwe’s main camp, located in the eastern section of the Park, 11km from the Main Gate, in the spectacular sandstone hills. Leokwe camp is unfenced and the necessary precautions need to be taken especially after dark.

  Two-bed Cottage has one bedroom with 2 single beds and is air-conditioned. The well equipped  open plan kitchen/living area, has a double sleeper couch suitable for children, and has a fan. There is an en-suite toilet and outdoor shower. An enclosed veranda with braai facilities.

Bathroom with  toilet and shower. An enclosed veranda with braai facilities.

• Four-bed Family Cottage has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with two single beds, the bedrooms have air-conditioners. Bathroom with toilet and shower. A well equipped open plan kitchen/living area with a fan, television with limited channel DSTV. An enclosed veranda with braai facilities.

Activities & Facilities

Leokwe Camp offers guests adventure in the form of guided bush walks and game drives, morning, afternoon and evening, all under the supervision of well informed and keen professionals. Important to note is that children under the age of six are not permitted on game drives, and children under the age of twelve are restricted from game walks.

A two-to-three hour heritage tour is available on request, as well as the popular three hour tree top walk.

Facilities at the camp include an observation deck and bird hide, a picnic area, swimming pool built amongst the rocks, a  sundeck, as well as a central braai area. Close to the camp guests can enjoy the Treetop Hide and the Confluence View Site & Picnic Area. The camp itself has a swimming pool and sundeck, as well as a central braai area.
