The basics
Why, when, and where.
WHY
Stretching along the northern part of Namibia is Skeleton Coast, boasting with the most eerily beautiful and remote landscapes, and connecting with the Atlantic ocean.
Skeleton Coast offers the escape to unparalleled peace and solitude. Here you can engage with the local Himba communities and learn about their unique traditions.
Despite the seemingly uninhabitable environment, Skeleton Coast is home to the desert-adapted elephants, lions, hyenas, and antelopes.
WHEN
Although Skeleton Coast offers a variety of unique attractions all year round, the winter months, May to October, may be considered as the most favorable time to visit.
The daytime temperatures are bearable and the skies are clearer, making it the photographer's paradise. The wildlife, especially desert-adapted species, may be more active and easier to spot.
From November to April, the summer season, you will have greener landscapes and fewer tourists, providing a more exclusive experience.
WHERE
The Skeleton Coast, with its remote and haunting beauty, offers limited but authentic accommodation options, from luxury lodges to wild camping.
The perfect blend of unique wilderness and luxury retreat.
