Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp is nestled in the private Manyeleti Private Game Reserve which borders with the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, and the Timbavati Game Reserve. Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp was designed to offer an authentic tented safari experience in a pristine wildlife sanctuary.
There are 15 Luxury Tents which are nestled in a Tamboti grove and overlook a dry river bed. The tents are each set on a wooden platform and are furnished with king-size beds which can be converted into twin beds, mosquito nets, leather couches; and en-suite bathroom with a sunken concrete bath, double shower, double vanity and a separate toilet.
Lodge facilities include a reception area, a large sitting area, a dining area, a bar and an extensive climate controlled wine cellar, swimming pool with sun loungers and a viewing deck that overlooks a nearby watering hole.
Dining at the camp is communal and is usually outdoors with log fires and torches. The cuisine is simple homemade dishes and incorporates local produce. Special arrangements can be made for in-room dining and private bush dinners.
Activities offered at camp or nearby include morning and afternoon open vehicle game drives in the private reserve or in the neighboring Kruger National Park, bird watching from a newly built hide opposite a watering hole, guided hiking and walking safaris, plant life/flora and footprint tracking, private guided tours, and wildlife photography.

"A fantastic safari experience! Saw all the big five animals, the tents were very comfortable and charming, the food was great. We got a tent right next to a water hole where we could see all the animals drinking and bathing at daytime. All together an unforgettable experience and a great value of money, I would recommend the place to anybody."
"My partner and I recently spent 4 nights at Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp and it was everything we expected and more. Upon arrival we were greeted at Koka Moya Camp for check in and the camp, game drives, bush walks and meal times were explained. We were then transferred to Mantobeni in time for our first two course lunch, which was delicious. All meals at Mantobeni are announced by the beating of the African Drums, and then the chef announces the menu for the meal. Eating occurs around a communal table with all guests and game drive guides eating together. This was fantastic as you get to know everyone in the camp and swap stories of sightings, etc. At lunch our guide Brilliant introduced himself to us and shortly after lunch we were off on our first game drive. The truck was incredibly spacious and comfortable, there was only 5 people on the first drive in a 10 seater truck. Brilliant lived up to his name and found us a pride of lions within several minutes of the game drive starting. Brilliant was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, birds and plants and would answer any and all questions, as well as take requests about what particular animals you wanted to see. After about 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours of driving Brilliant would find a nice spot with a vantage point and set up for sundowners and snacks! On the very first game drive after sundowners Brilliant spotted leopard tracks and within minutes we had found the leopard. Even though we had already driven beyond the scheduled time Brilliant stayed longer and allowed us to enjoy sighting this beautiful creature. All the guides use radios and report sightings and locations of animals so that every guest gets to enjoy all that the camp has to offer. When a specific animal is sighted no more then three trucks are allowed to watch the scene at a time, which allows for a more intimate experience and great vantage points for photos, etc. After game drives there is about 1/2 an hour to 15 minutes (depending on how long your drive was) before a three course dinner is announced. All the meals are amazing and they feed you until you literally explode! The kitchen staff are also fantastic at catering for allergies and specific meal requirements. I mentioned that my partner was allergic to kiwi fruit only once and without reminder the kitchen staff ensured that there was no kiwi served to my partner. The camp itself has 12 permanent tents all with viewing decks and separate bathrooms. The beds have four poster mosquito nets and the tent itself has heavy netting all around that can be lowered or raised depending on the time of day. There is also another layer of material that can be lowered or raise to block out the sun and the cold. All beds have electric blankets and extra top covers for chilly nights. There is a viewing tower near a watering hole which is a hive of animal activity during the day, and bush walks can also be arranged with your guide. In the morning you are woken with the beating of African drums at around 6am before coffee, tea or hot chocolate is delivered to your tent. You then meet at 6.30 for the first game drive of the day. As with the afternoon game drive after about 2 and a half to 3 hours the guide stops and serves tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a snack, before heading back to camp for a THREE COURSE breakfast. The entire experience was unforgettable and will stay with me forever! I can not recommend the Honeyguide Tented Camps more highly!"
"Traveled with friends and had a super experience at Honeyguide Mantobeni. Superb cuisine served up by brilliant staff who were friendly and super efficient. Excellent Rangers on the game drives who went out of their way up to the very last minute of our very last game drive, to show us a pride of Lion to just add the "icing on the cake" to a brilliant safari experience! The tents were comfortable and warm at night in the freezing June temperatures, timely wake-up calls in the morning with a lovely cup of steaming coffee and the included drinks on the evening game drives was a lovely touch. Hard to single out anyone to make special mention of because they were all so great! Will definitely choose this place again if I am lucky enough to get to South Africa another time!"
"The accommodation is good. Food good, wholesome "boere-kos". The game-viewing trips to the Kruger were very pleasant. The area visited in the Sabi-Sand reserve was not very exciting, game-wise."
"We had a great stay at Honeyguides.. We were able to go on the"pay for two stay for three" special - which made it good value for money. The game drives and guides were excellent. The reserve itself was great. The food couldn't be better and the staff were super. However, we found the accommodation a little run-down and in need of a little TLC..."
"Our stay at Mantobeni was a really great experience! We absolutely can recommend it even for the high price!"

"Words can not justify the amazing time we had at Mantobeni. Expect fun, unforgettable moments and a lifetime of great memories. Manyeleti's staff members are all professional and also became our friends. They make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Expect friendly and efficient service. Being a South African citizen and visiting National Parks every year, I am proud to say that Mantobeni/Manyeleti is my favourite game reserve ever. Everyone should experience this luxurious South African gem once in their lifetime. You are guaranteed a true South African Safari!"
"Honeyguide - Mantobeni is a great place. It's a great experience staying in tents. Our tent was in front of the waterhole with elephants and buffaloes. In four days we saw The Big Five on our game drives! We'll be back!"

"Great company, nice facilities, expert guides - became good friends you do not want to miss this!"
"My boyfriend and I visited Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp after looking at several options. We wanted something that was a bit rustic, where you were close to the wildlife and the bush. This safari delivered! The staff are incomparable -- incredibly knowledgeable, generous with their experiences and professional. They went above and beyond to create a memorable experience for us -- thank you to Brett and Mavis! We had Briliant and Johnson as our safari drive guide and spotter. They were fantastic! We saw the big 5 and more -- even a leopard lounging in a tree, a python sunning itself, and a chameleon in a tree. The tents are, indeed, in the bush so you do hear the animals. If you are easily spooked, this may not be right for you -- for example, I was woken during the night by hyena calls. Overall, this is an amazing experience that we highly recommend!"
