- When is the best time to visit?
- May to December is the cooler, drier season and the safest bet; January to March is cyclone season with hot, humid days between storms. The island is genuinely year-round by resort standards.
- Which coast should I choose?
- The north and west are calmer, sunset-facing and best for swimming year-round; the east catches the trade winds, beloved of kitesurfers and cooler in summer; the south is wilder and more dramatic. Resorts cluster accordingly.
- Is Mauritius better for honeymoons or families?
- Both, by design. The island splits cleanly between adults-focused romance resorts and full-service family properties with kids' clubs; there is no compromise required, just the right booking.
