It's a wonderful place to stay and an amazing safari experience. But the lodge should definitely try and negotiate with the Mala Mala people for guests to be able to cross their land to get there. The outside route was 3 more hours, when it could've been 30 minutes or less.

Fantastic! We had a wonderful stay and loved every second!! Thank you for unforgettable time.

An amazing experience all round. The game drives were exceptional, with very knowledgeable ranger (Sedeick) and tracker (Derek). The Ranger was humorous and entertaining and together with the Tracker they were always on the mark in finding animals and wildlife. The food was outstanding, although a few more South African dishes would have better. The food was always of a very high standard and most delicious each time. The accommodation was fantastic and the common areas were also very pleasant indeed. We have been recommending Arathusa to many and hope they visit you soon. We would also certainly consider going again in the future.

The camp is up-market, accommodation excellent, the staff very attentive. The game drives were top class, ranger Cedric and tracker Derek were exceptional, we saw the Big 5 within a day of arriving and much more. Leopard sightings, lion kills, and brilliant insights into local names, animal folklore were given. The food was brilliant and varied, Well Done to the team at Arathusa, a much enjoyed trip back to Africa for our family!

We had a very pleasant, charming and lovely stay at Arathusa Lodge. It was our first safari and we have really enjoyed it. the staff is great and food is delicious. the game drive are great even though we only have seen 2 of the 5 big five

We had the most amazing time at Arathusa. The luxury suites we tastefully decorated, spacious, romantic and superbly private. The plunge pool was a huge highlight during a hot day. Each time we returned from a game drive our unit was cleaned and well looked after. I read on Tripadvisor that the lodge was run down, it was immaculate! It must have been an old write up because it appeared new and refurbished. The game rangers, especially Ryan, we amazing. Such a knowledgeable young man, always smiling, packed with fabulous humour and yet still respectful! The staff accommodated our gluten intolerance and even shared their recipes with us! We saw so much game while we were there, such a glorious treat. The birds were amazing and we all learnt so much while we were out on the drive. The food was outstanding! The Warthog stir fry was by far my favourite! Delicious, filling breakfasts - really healthy. Light, wholesome lunches and the dinners we exceptional. Such delicious variety. We miss the lodge already and so look forward to returning! A huge thank you to all the fabulous staff at Arathusa for making our vacation a little piece of heaven!

The Arathusa Lodge is a fantastic place to stay, with exceptional game viewing and beautiful accommodation and excellent cuisine. The rangers have a great deal of knowledge and have a high level of customer service. The only fault I found in the place was that the staff rushed us out of dinner every night (noisily).I will be back!
Joachim Becker
The nature experience has been outstanding and driven by an excellent guide. Food was very good, housing average.

We really enjoyed our stay at Arathusa! Staff were very friendly and professional. The accommodation was clean, spacious and in lovely surroundings. We enjoyed the company of all the other guests and the we would most certainly come back. From a general point of view, it would have also been interesting to have the trackers eating with us at the table but this is a comment which is applicable to most game drive reserves I imagine and not just Arathusa.

If one wants a splurge of affordable luxury in the middle of a budget holiday in South Africa, Arathusa is the place, in our humble opinion. The meals were 5 stars perfect. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The Trackers and Rangers were exceptionally knowledgeable and had eyes like eagles. Nothing escaped their attention, not even a Chameleon! Most important for a private pilot on a self fly holiday in a rented aircraft, the reservations staff were able to be flexible in rescheduling our booking Without Penalty when we were weather delayed some 1,000km to the south in Port Alfred by low cloud on short notice. That wonderful luxury suite cabin, sigh, total privacy deep in the African bush... it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It had enough floor space to lay out ALL the Visual Navigation Charts for southern Africa, so I could work on the flight paths available to us for the rest of our African holiday, including up to Botswana and our options for getting back to Cape Town via Namibia. We also wanted to do just "one more" morning game drive, but on flying days, being well rested and ready to go is more important when your a pilot. In closing we wish to express special thanks to ........the chap on staff whose name I can not recall, who loaned us his lap top so we could check with the SA Aviation Weather website when my laptop's WiFi failed. It was a great help that was much appreciated........ to Ranger Jason, (a fellow private pilot) who not once, but twice, dragged one of the old farm tractor tires from their airfield "lawn mower" up and down the runway behind his safari Land Cruiser, to smooth out the hoof prints and dung piles, so that a retractable undercarriage aircraft with its small wheels could land and take off from Arathusa safely..... and finally to Roy and his fellow Trackers, who helped us secure the aircraft and pack Cape Thorn bushes around the under carriage, to stop hyenas from chewing on our tires and hydraulic lines.Arathusa went the extra mile to ensure that we not only had a great visit, but could safely get a C-172RG into and back out of that amazing airstrip of theirs. We had a most wonderful stay in Arathusa and will telling everyone we meet that it is the best resort in the Sabi Sands Reserve. We will be back, best wishes and our thanks again for a most memorable Safari experience.Warmest regards! Unorgettable trip in South Africa
We have spent 12 days as a family in South Africa with my 3 children and my wife who is in a wheelchair. Thanks to Pascal, Safari.com consultant, we were able to spend an unforgettable moment with a great program while being well accompanied despite our constraints. I recommand particularly the "Monwana game lodge" for a safari in Hoedspruit. It's an amazing place with very nice people and a real family atmosphere. Thank you to the entire Safari.com team for this unforgettable trip.

Superior service, knowledgeable, transparent, amazing can-do attitude
These guys get 10/10. I have booked with them a few times. To Kruger National Park, including both public and private(concession) camps, flights and car hire. Their senior agent, Dolan is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Attention to detail, transparency, and 'can-do' attitude are out of the ordinary. I recently came into contact with Tanya at safari.com as well. It looks like all their agents are similarly well trained. Thank you. I cannot recommend Dolan and his team highly enough.

Cape Town miracle
I was in Cape Town, South Africa recently for an athletic competition and had allowed myself a week of personal time to relax and properly conclude the trip, but had not bothered to plan a safari to occupy the time. I was skeptical of the cost and whether I would enjoy the experience, however a couple days into that final week it occurred to me, in a bit of a panic attack, what a waste it would be not to take advantage of this opportunity. I hopped online and started looking at flights to Johannesburg (almost all the safaris in SA start there with an early morning pick up), but it was basically impossible to get a flight early enough and/or to coordinate with the multiple safaris operating in or just outside of Kruger. With no apparent options available to turn my remaining 4 1/2 days into even a 3 day safari I stumbled on the most obvious website one could imagine, Safari.com. I'd completely given up negotiating all the variables on my own but here was a safari travel agent that might be able to help me .. and they were based right out of Cape Town, literally a stones throw from my lodgings. Serendipity, or so i hoped. I immediately sent out an email and crossed my fingers .. for roughly an hour and a half, at which point Dolan from Safari.com responded to me requesting I give him a call so that we could expedite potential arrangements. My in country phone plan wasn't able to make calls, but we arranged for him to call me and not 3 hours after being in the grip of despair Dolan got through to me and far from notifying me of how absurd it was to hold out hope for a literally, last minute safari adventure with barely 4 days available to me, he had already worked out all the details I'd sent and created a preliminary safari trip that would bypass Johannesburg airport for a flight the next morning to a closer, much, much smaller airport where I would be picked up taken, not to a 3 day safari, but a full 4 day safari, then back to the tiny, tiny airport for a return flight to Cape Town with 2 hours to spare for my return leg all the way home. It almost feels like an afterthought, after the minor miracle Dolan was able to conjure up, but the safari itself at Simbavati Lodge was just an absolutely stunning experience. The single "tent" he booked me was as luxurious as any 4 star hotel I've stayed in, the game drives, one every morning, one every evening were more amazing than I could have ever imagined, and the food, 3 meals a day with snacks and an open bar was sublime. I could go on about the wonderful staff, or the wonderful other safari goers you can meet and grab a drink with, or the different animals walking through the open lodge facilities daily .. but I've gone on long enough. I'll simply conclude by saying .. safari, absolutely, yes, do it, it is amazing. And when you do decide, Safari.com will do you right and if you have the pleasure of working with Dolan, do give him my thanks .. the entire experience was the best part of my trip :)

A great company
What to say! We planned a South African Safari for 2020 with Safari.com. We researched companies and took a chance on one we had never heard of before. Henry Franklin was our agent, we gave him our budget and wish list. He came up with a wonderful looking trip and we made our choices! Then came Covid, preventing us from going. We couldn’t have been in better hands. Henry rebooked everything for the next year. He kept us updated on how things looked there. When in 2021, we decided it still looked iffy, he rebooked us a second time for 2022. We couldn’t have been happier with the service we had in a rough time for all. We had a wonderful experience on our trip when we finally got to go!! Henry had everything so well organized and gave us a detailed list of what transfer companies would be meeting us and when. When Airlink bumped us and put us on standby returning from Victoria Falls, we called the concierge number Henry had given us and Catherine worked hard on this and got us back on our flight. The Safari.com team had our back and we have no regrets. Would definitely use them again. Our lodging was wonderful, saw the big 5 within first 2 drives. Henry definitely knew the territory and did a great job matching what we wanted with where he suggested we go and stay. Thanks Safari.com, Henry and Catherine!
