Sporting no-nonsense decor and an authentic buffalo dung construction, the camp (a satellite entity to the Kruger National Park's Shishangeni Lodge) takes up a 15 000 hectare private concession under the Kruger National Park. Embracing the elements of fine safari accommodation, from its well appointed rooms to its relaxing decks overlooking the concession. Camp Shawu is a rewarding and magical experience, right in the midst of a wild African setting.
Accommodation at Camp Shawu comprises of five luxury twin rooms, completed in an authentic African motif, and providing en-suite bathroom facilities, outdoor showers, ceiling fans, fire places, and private patios.
Guests to Camp Shawu can indulge in exciting morning and evening game drives, in open Land Rovers, out into the rough and untamed bush of the Limpopo Province bushveld. These drives are conducted and guided by a team of informative and experienced guides, all of whom are eager to answer questions and make the experience as complete and authentic as possible. The lodge also allows for self driven excursions into the park. For a more relaxed experience, visits are arranged out bird watching.
Facilities at Camp Shawu include a swimming pool and charming, fully stocked bar area.
Kruger National Park plays host to a vast, free roaming array of impressive mammals, including Burchell's Zebra, African Buffalo, impala, lion, black and white rhino, cheetah, leopard, elephant, and hippopotamus, as well as various reptiles and water creatures, and five hundred and seventeen distinct bird species.
Accommodation, all meals, morning and afternoon game drives, snacks and beverages on game drives.
Exclusions
• Not included are gate entrance fees, transport to the lodge itself, personal travel insurance, and extra meals.

First time to Cape Town
We are a group of ten friends traveling together to Cape Town for the first time. Safari.com was our top choice for travel agents. Leché and Tracy were incredibly helpful and prompt with our questions and bookings. The trip to Sanbona Wildlife Reserve was fantastic, and everything went off without a hitch. Seems pointless to book things direct when Safari.com can do it all for you at the same cost
I wasn’t actually planning on leaving a review until after our trip which has been scheduled for March 2025. I wasn’t even planning to use a travel company to assist as we are experienced travellers who are used to booking our own arrangements. The cost of going direct with suppliers and going through Safari.com was exactly the same - with the latter you also have outstanding service and advice which makes it pointless to do it yourself. But I felt compelled to leave a shout out for Leigh-Ann Croeser who has been extremely helpful in organising our itinerary for South Africa. Her response to queries was always prompt and professional. When we ultimately wish to travel to East Africa, I know who I will be contacting.
