Located in a private concession of the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Shishangeni Lodge provides an uncrowded and unique safari experience. The Kruger National Park is one of the top reserves in Africa with two million hectares of pristine wilderness and home to the famous Big Five.
• Children under the age of 16 years are welcome at Shishangeni Main Lodge.
• Children 0 - 5 years will stay free of charge when sharing with parents - (2 children sharing per bedroom with 2 adults, subject to the availability of rooms).
• Children 6 - 11 years will pay less 50% of the per person adult sharing rates when sharing with 2 adults.
• Children 12 years and older will be charged the full adult rate.
• Please note children under the age of 6 years will not be permitted on game drives.
• Children aged 6 - 11 years are permitted on game drives at the sole discretion of management.
Shishangeni Private Lodge boasts 22 individual Chalets that are well-appointed with ensuite bathrooms, outdoor showers, fireplaces, air conditioning, and a private game-viewing deck. Inter-leading rooms are available for families on request.
The lodge facilities include a swimming pool, indoor dining area, outdoor dining area, spacious wooden viewing deck, and rejuvenating spa.
The Kruger National Park is one of Africa’s largest game reserves with 19 485 square kilometers of wilderness. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape and are inhabited by 148 mammal species including the Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. The Kruger is a bird watchers paradise with over 500 bird species recorded.
Enjoy early morning or late afternoon game drives in search of the 'Big 5' with an experienced guide. In the evenings, dine beneath a canopy of stars and share your stories whilst sitting around the roaring boma fire.

First time to Cape Town
We are a group of ten friends traveling together to Cape Town for the first time. Safari.com was our top choice for travel agents. Leché and Tracy were incredibly helpful and prompt with our questions and bookings. The trip to Sanbona Wildlife Reserve was fantastic, and everything went off without a hitch. Seems pointless to book things direct when Safari.com can do it all for you at the same cost
I wasn’t actually planning on leaving a review until after our trip which has been scheduled for March 2025. I wasn’t even planning to use a travel company to assist as we are experienced travellers who are used to booking our own arrangements. The cost of going direct with suppliers and going through Safari.com was exactly the same - with the latter you also have outstanding service and advice which makes it pointless to do it yourself. But I felt compelled to leave a shout out for Leigh-Ann Croeser who has been extremely helpful in organising our itinerary for South Africa. Her response to queries was always prompt and professional. When we ultimately wish to travel to East Africa, I know who I will be contacting.
