Simbavati Migration Camp, follows the wildebeest migration around the Serengeti. It moves it’s prime location twice a year, seasonally, positioning itself best for river crossing sightings during the Great Migration and the wildebeest birthing period later in the year. The camp opening is planned for August 2023.
Nestled amidst the open plains between the Serengeti National Park and the Grumeti River, Simbavati Migration Camp is a beacon of luxury and adventure. This mobile camp moves its prime location twice a year, to follow the wildebeest migration, and to capture the calving season.
Simbavati Migration Camp moves seasonally through the Serengeti, following the wildebeest migration. The luxury mobile camp is based in the north from June to October, perfectly placed to witness the Mara river crossings. It moves to the southern plains from December to March in prime position, where the wildebeest give birth to thousands of calves each year.
Six luxurious mobile tents are positioned to embrace the tranquillity and majesty of the wilderness while twice-daily game drives seek out the wildebeest and a myriad of other wildlife on safari. Guests can watch the birdlife and animals right from the camp too, allowing for moments of pure awe and contemplation.
Game drives take place in the early morning and late afternoon when the animals are naturally most active.
The camp has a central dining and lounge tent where guests can congregate for meal times whilst watching the zebras or Thompson’s gazelle pass by the camp. Several times a week, dinner is a more hearty, campfire style meal served under the stars in a 'boma', a circular enclosure originally made from branches. The cosy, lantern-lit ambience recalls the early days of safari piorneers.

While we have not traveled as yet
While we have not traveled as yet, the itinerary that we developed is very exciting and we are looking forward to this experience very much. Jayson Scheffers has been a wonderfully engaged and responsive partner in developing our agenda, despite our having some needs to change travel dates and agendas during the planning process because of family illness that necessitated our changing plans.

My first experience a number of months…
My first experience a number of months back wasn't as I wanted. I picked up with Dolan a little after this to find when the best time to Safari was with the chance of seeing the "big 5" and he was so helpful, guiding me to July-September. With the cooler winter months being the better chances to see more wildlife and the big five. This lead me on to deal with Jayson. Jayson has pulled out all the stops, working past 9pm Cape Town time( 8pm London UK) to help meet my needs. I travel out on 6th July and cannot wait, Thank you Dolan and Jayson. It was a great experience dealing with…
It was a great experience dealing with Shann. She was most accommodating and patient. We managed to sort things out very eventually. The only sore point I have is the 2 % surcharge for the card handling fee, which I find too excessive. Otherwise, I am pleased with everything.

Trip to Kruger at Mdluli Safari Lodge
I loved working with Anja from safari.com. She put together my itinerary within my price range and was very professional, thorough and empathetic. She followed up with me many times to see if I needed anything throughout my trip and even filled out some forms for me when I was having difficulty. When the lodge I stayed at was not being accommodating in the slightest, she quickly contacted the manager and got them to rearrange their services to meet my needs. I would most certainly use safari.com again due to my wonderful experience working with Anja.

Nicole at Safari.com is AMAZING!!!
I would love to share my experience with Nicole. She has worked tirelessly to help me make my dream vacation a reality. I had no idea how to start planning. Nicole suggested the most wonderful South African resorts and safaris. No matter how many changes I threw her way it was always received with a happy, positive attitude. I live in Hawaii and even though we were on a 12 hour time difference she was always available to answer any questions or concerns. Her expertise, knowledge and patience are unmeasurable. I was plagued with numerous payment issues from my bank in Hawaii. Nicole never wavered from being patience and more importantly positive that we could resolve each issue and get my trip booked. Nicole is a huge asset to Safari.com and I will scream it from the mountains to let everyone know what excellent customer service I have received. Nicole is a ROCKSTAR!!!
