Camp is well managed and kept in mint condition. Forest hut was very comfortable.
One of the better places I have stayed in SA.
Very friendly, neat camp.
We had a fantastic time! Will recommend it to anyone that loves getting back into nature.
Dear staff of Nature's Valley - my family and I enjoyed a great time while camping/lodging at NV Rest Camp!!Thanks for good services rendered to us during our stay!!Suzette
We had a great time in Natures valley rest camp. The staff is friendly, the bedding clean and the setting is ideal when you want to rough it up a bit.
Such a beautiful part of the country, the cabins were beautifully equipped with everything we could need. Price was very fair. Sometimes a mission to get to a tap or ablutions and if you wanting luxury this isn't it. But for self catering inexpensive holiday it was amazing. Thank you San parks!
Natures Vallley is absolutely beautiful, so serene right in and amongst nature. The forest hut has all the amenities needed. We just brought food! I love renting the canoes, only problem is they only charge per hour so it's not really good value if you want to keep them overnight so you can canoe in the evening and early morning as you please - its better to plan and only collect the ores when you're ready.
I love this place and wish we could have stayed longer.
Stay was excellent but there need to be burglar bars on the windows to keep the baboons out! Very clean and neat will definitely go stay there again!
We are very happy that we stopped at Natures Valley along the Garden Route. What a spectacular place. The cabin was perfect for one night as we were staying at the Hyatt in Oubaai the next night - it was fun to "rough" it. That being said - the room had a fridge, microwave, tea and coffee, bathrooms were close, and our porch overlook a portion of the Groot River so if you had time you could canoe / kayak right to your front door. The trail along the beach and up to the Otter Trail is so amazing and the Rest Camp provides you with a stack of wood to light your BBQ / Braai at night. Great job SANParks!!
Stayed in the forest huts. Accommodation was very affordable. Facilities were very well maintained and very comfortable. The park itself was an amazing location. Beautiful and full of activities.
The camp is situated in an incredibly beautiful part of the valley. The facilities are clean. Watch out for baboons raiding by not leaving food out........Stunning walks, rides, runs and canoeing. Try supporting the Covie community by running, walking or cycling their rustic trail.
It was a wonderful experience. The facilities are of a high standard. Lots of birds and other creatures to admire. We will visit again and advise our friends to visit the park as well.
This camp is so perfect. I would not want them to change anything. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The place is so beautifully kept.
Even though it rained the whole weekend we had a very enjoyable time - excellent ablutions - cleanliness & general mangement of campsite was very good
My wifeand I and our two daughters aged 10 and 6 had a great time except for the baboons. My girls are terrified of baboons cos they (baboons) entered our tent, destroyed our kitchen, stole our food and all of this happened while the girls were in the tent. The facilities - excellent. The staff extremely friendly and they tried to get the baboons away.
It was a short great stay-I can not say anything negative-clean and quite camp! Thanks
Amazing secluded spot. At night we saw genets and a bush pig. In the day baboons and a Knysna Loerie! Rowing to the beach and breathtaking hikes were highlights

I went away to Nature's Valley for a month and it was magical. I took my Mom away with me and family and friends popped up for a few days here and there to join us too. Everybody really enjoyed it.The accommodation was very unassuming, a quaint forest hut on the edge of the river covered by a forest canopy. With fresh air, and a really moderate, pleasant climate made for a very pleasant stay. One of my intentions of staying in Nature's Valley was to escape the Cape Town hayfever I inevitably get every year. I am pleased to report that there was absolutely no hayfever whatsoever during the stay!A massive plus for me is that I was able to work while I was there - the 3G reception is, believe it or not, exceptional. To be able to stay in an unassuming forest hut, on the side of a beautiful river, in the middle of a forest, while being able to browse the internet! Magic. There are canoes at the camp which you can hire out and take down the river as far as the mouth. From the mouth you can take a walk on the beach or branch off onto one of a few wilderness trails. There is one quick 20min trail, in particular, which takes you to a lookout point with a spectacular view of the sea, river, and both sides of the valley which the hill/mountain separates. For more of a workout, the lengthier trails are also exquisite taking you deep into the forest. We were visited by a few animals during our stay! A genet would come into the cabin from time to time at night. A bush pig who we named "Wilbur" scrummaged around outside on a few occasions, "inhaling" food rather than eating it haha. And we were visited by baboons twice who were so cheeky they came into the cabin and stole food from under our nose. It was quite riveting, except I had heard that when visited by a baboon in close quarters it's best to keep still, leave them be and not look them in the eyes!I will definitely return to Nature's Valley soon, though there a few other SA National Parks on my checklist which I would like to experience first. I would highly recommend this camp to anybody.

It was like a fairytale. Genets in front of our veranda at night, Blue Duikers (type of buck), the Knysna Turaco and lots of other birds around the huts during daytime. A great place to stay! The huts and the ablutions were clean and comfortable.

Very Quaint and comfortable.

We were privileged to stay in a Forest Hut in Natures Valley. The beauty, the experience of waking up with only birds stirring in the trees and a pair of Knysna Loeries 'camping' and cavorting among the trees above our huts left us totally astounded by the overall experience. We felt welcome from our arrival till our departure. The ablution facilities were clean and immaculate. The Forest Huts were immaculate and there were no nasty 'goggas' under the beds or anywhere in the huts. Well done. We will be back for more.
We stayed at the De Vasselot rest camp in Nature's Valley at one of two self catering chalets on the bank of the river. The accommodation was excellent, clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. The booking process was painless and we had no problems whatsoever on arrival. Nature's Valley is a beautiful place with loads of things to do and we recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a few days.
very tidy well looked after campsite. only problem was the geyser in the ablution facilities was not switched on so only cold water was available. also the launching area for the canoes can do with some maintenance. thank you for a great stay
Hello. I would like to let you know we (me and my girlfriend) reciently took a two week break. We stayed at 4 of your parks and were very impressed with 3 of them. The one problem we had was at Natures Valley. We found your staff helpful and friendly, your facilities clean and your campsites well equiped and organised. The problem we had was with a group of people who were loud, swearing and playing music. Although we do not hold you responsable for other peoples actions we would like to let you know we were first camped across from them and decided to move to another site, this did not help and the music and loud sewaring only got louder as the night went on. We decided instead of causing conflict with them we would ask your staff to speak to them. Our first request was at about 5pm and later we had to phone the park manager. This did not help and the music continued throughout most of our stay. I feel we missed out on a lot of the bird and animal life in the park and were not very happy when we left. I think your rules were listed very clearly at all of the parks and from what I can recall there was a strict no music rule which could lead to a R500 fine. This was not enforced and it led to a very unplesant stay for us. I feel that this sets a very bad example for others and may lead to more misconduct in the future, i.e if they can play music, shout, scream and swear at top volume then why don't we all do the same (no one does anything about it anyway). As I said before I do not hold the park or its staff resopnsable for other proples actions at all but I do feel that if there is a rule structure in place it should be inforced or there is no point in having it in the first place.Kind RegardsD.Clark
Sadly we arrived when it was dark and had to leave early the next morning so it was a very brief stay in the forest hut (we went on to stay the other end of Storms River mouth in an oceanette which we highly recommend). The forest hut was great, just by a pond and lots of privacy - basic but it had all we needed. Shame we didnt have longer. Staff in the park were very friendly and helpful & it was awesome to see baboons as we walked back from the bathroom! (Chris & Rose)
