Namibia

An amalgamation of striking scenery, dramatic landscapes, and foggy shorelines sets the tone for an otherworldly Namibian safari. This unique destination is home to desert-adapted wildlife, the famous Skeleton Coast, and Etosha National Park, where classic big game safaris are widely enjoyed. Namibia offers visitors diverse experiences and some truly outstanding accommodations. Most importantly, this destination is one of the safest in Africa.

Some of the most iconic wildlife experiences in Namibia? Spotting desert lions near Skeleton Coast or Kaokoland and desert elephants in Damaraland, along rocky desert landscapes and within petrified forests. Your safari off the beaten path brings many surprises! Sossusvlei and Deadvlei have the world’s highest red sand dunes – spot animals like Oryx, Kackal, Hyena, and Springbok.

Experience the magic of Namibia through our 7-Day Namibian Desert to Coast Adventure, an amazing fly-in safari that lands you in the NamibRand Nature Reserve and the Skeleton Coast Park – look forward to plenty of stargazing, luxury tented camping amidst mountains and dunes, wildlife encounters, and optional adventure activities.

“A wonderful 3 weeks in great accommodation in Wolwedans desert Lodge Namibia) Stanley’s Camp and Chobi Chilwero ( Botswana) Sussi and Chuma ( Zambia) and Lion Sands River Lodge ( South Africa). In all places we saw incredible wildlife and could get extremely close for great photos. The African people were warm and wanted to make us so welcome wherever we went. Our only worry was at Sussi and Chuma where we went for an evening cruise on the fast flowing hippo filled river near Victoria falls only to find the boat had no fuel! Luckily we were able to tie up to a dead tree and wait till help arrived. Scary!!We had wonderful and very patient help from our consultants Sara Van Collie and we would be very happy to hand our African travel plans to her again at SAFARI.COM.”

Botswana

This Southern Africa destination is the heart of the Okavango Delta, with Kalahari Desert landscapes and fossilized river valleys creating the perfect safari setting. Each year, visitors travel to Botswana from near and far to connect with nature and explore the vast beauty of the country’s parks, reserves, and heritage sights.

Celebrated for its safety and exclusivity, a safari in Botswana ensures premium wildlife experiences in peace and privacy. As you journey deeper into the Delta, expect incredible predator sightings, including large lion prides, buffalo herds, and wild dogs. Between November and March, thousands of zebras move between the Okavango Delta and the Chobe region to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. This migration is beautiful to witness, and the largest of its kind in Southern Africa.

Our 9-Day Classic Botswana Safari is a wonderful way to take in the untamed magnificence of the Okavango Delta, Chobe River, and Chobe National Park. Disconnect from the world as you know it and embrace the wild through immersive game drives, Mokoro excursions, and evening dinners in the bush.

“This trip was wonderful and everything went very smoothly. Shann was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. I don't know if you use net promoter score as part of your metrics but I would highly recommend Safari.com to others (which I have). Then next time I visit Africa, I will definitely use safari.com again.”

“Dream Honeymoon and Adventure of a Lifetime : We planned our honeymoon in South Africa with the help of our travel consultant, Lana Goodwin at Safari.com. I had always dreamed of going on a safari for my honeymoon. It was my dream vacation. I am very well traveled and usually plan trips on my own, but it was particularly difficult to plan this trip. There was so many countries, national parks, and lodges to choose from, I got terrible choice paralysis, plus I had a budget to stick to. Then Lana came along and took care of everything. She was super responsive and accommodating. She kept our trip affordable and somehow still landed us in the nicest accommodations I’ve ever stayed in. We also got a honeymooners discount, and a private dinner in the safari lodge’s wine cellar, and a bottle of champagne to the room. She also was able to add on a hot air balloon to our experience when I asked for further customization. I had the impression that going through a travel consultant would be too expensive for us, but she made it so affordable because safari.com has great deals with lodges, car transfers, and excursion companies. Plus they really know what they are the experts! We spoke to other guests at the lodge that we stayed in who had done many African safaris in their life and they said this one was their favorite. The staff and the guides were so knowledgeable and hospitable. Many people also asked if I felt nervous about proximity to animals on my safari. Honestly the thought never crossed my mind. I felt so safe and in good hands with our knowledgeable guides. I am SO glad that we used Safari.com to plan our honeymoon. It was the coolest trip we have ever taken (and maybe the coolest trip we will ever take). It was the adventure of a lifetime, and I’m so glad that my husband and I can share this experience as the first adventure of our married life. Thank you so much Lana and Safari.com!!”

Kenya

Uplifting safaris await visitors in Kenya. Here, various ecosystems, including savannas, wetlands, and highland forests, promise unmatched wildlife experiences. Kenya is considered a safe destination for an African safari – most safaris are in private lodges, while national parks are secure, with professional guides and rangers by your side.

The top attraction in Kenya is easily the Great Migration, referring to the annual movement of millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle from Tanzania's Serengeti to Kenya's Masai Mara. The best time to see the annual migration is from July to October, although Mother Nature makes the rules, and the timelines can differ. This is considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world, demonstrating the power of nature.

Kenya has copious birdlife, scenic landscapes, wonderful cultural experiences with local villages, and showstopping Big 5 safaris with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Our 7 Day Classic Kenyan Safari is a favorite – spend time in Tsavo West National Park, Amboseli National Park, and Masai Mara Game Reserve.

“Kenyan Adventure - This was the 2nd African safari that I have coordinated with the help of Safari.com. Once again, they knocked it out of the park. Fadiel listened to my feedback and set up an incredible itinerary that allowed us to surpass our trip goals. We are considering our next African safari excursion, and will certainly use Safari.com again.”

Zambia

From the magnificence of Victoria Falls to intimate safaris alive with the presence of the animal kingdom, Zambia is well-loved by tourists. But is it safe? Yes, Zambia is considered safe for travelers, especially within safari regions. National Parks are protected, while expert guides pave the way to incredible discoveries of the wild. Of course, guests are always encouraged to be cautious, especially when visiting cities.

Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park is known as the walking safari capital of the world. Check out our 3-Day Livingstone, Victoria Falls Safari to fill a short stay with adventure activities, while also enjoying a guided tour of Victoria Falls and 5 star luxury accommodation in the colonial Royal Livingstone Hotel.

Embark on discoveries that add depth and wildlife connections to your African Safari vacation. In Lower Zambezi National Park, explore stunning riverside scenery and wildlife up close on a canoe or boat safari.

“The ABSOLUTE best for planning an African safari and experiences! 5 stars PLUS - We usually plan all of our trips ourselves but when it came to the nuances and details of planning an immersive and comprehensive vacation to South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, Jolene Welsh, at Safari.com, exceeded our every expectation. She went so far above and beyond to make our trip a once in a lifetime event and we will be forever grateful! Her communication and flexibility was exemplary and her connections throughout their vast network was unmatched! Thank you, Jolene, more than we can say!”

African Safari Safety Tips

Book and travel with reputable guides and operators: Always use licensed safari companies with strong reputations. At SAFARI.COM, your safety is our focus and at the forefront of everything that we do.

Stay aware of your surroundings in towns: When visiting urban areas or driving through towns and cities, pay close attention to what is going on around you.

Do not flash your valuables: Save your expensive jewelry for dinner dates at your accommodation. Leave these valuables in a locked safe when exploring the bushveld and visiting attractions.

Keep Cash out of Sight: Just as with your valuables, be careful with your cash. Only take enough with you for your daily expenses, and store the rest securely.

If unsure, book a tour: Some places should only be visited through a guided tour by a reputable company. This includes visiting any informal settlements.

Your safety is our focus and at the forefront of everything that we do.
