Safari Plains is a luxury five-star tented safari lodge in the Greater Mabula Game Reserve, just a few hours from Johannesburg. Safari Plains offers accommodation in 20 luxurious tented suites within the bushveld. The family-friendly tents have a second bedroom with two twin beds while six of the suites feature a larger main area and its own private sala, the ideal spot for some afternoon relaxation while taking in the natural surrounding environment. Each spacious tent with its touches of African chic and earth-inspired decor tones, comes with a fully-stocked mini bar, tea and coffee facilities, full bathrooms and a private viewing deck with comfortable swing chairs to take in the view.

The landscape of seething sprawling savannas forms the habitat of some of Africa’s biggest, greatest and most elusive. The water hole in front of the lodge is a meeting place for many wandering animals, including the sable, a rather rare sight. Morning and afternoon game drives will quench your curiosity with possible sightings of lion, elephant, cheetah, leopard, small game and other creatures. And that is by no means the only way to experience the wildlife of Safari Plains. Guests can also get intimate with the bush on guided walking safaris – a real delight for the senses – go on horseback safaris and hot air balloon safaris which includes champagne, while a special kids entertainment program will keep the little ones busy for hours at end. Sections of the reserve can be explored on guided quad bike tours, there are golf courses nearby, a gym on-site and to spoil yourself there are also revitalizing spa treatments.
