Maroela Satellite Camp
A SANParks self-catering camp.
Finding oneself caravanning on the banks of the Timbavati River, on the western boundary of the Kruger National Park, Maroela rest camp provides one of two opportunities in the entire park for exclusive catering for camping enthusiasts. You can watch a host of indigenous wildlife as they frequent the small watering hole close to the camp's fence, there is also a rustic viewing platform overlooking the Timbavati River
We do not take rest camp bookings. Camps are booked directly with SANParks, where current tariffs are published.

Accommodation
- Campsites have an electricity point, communal ablutions and communal kitchens(electric hotplates and washing up facilities). Maximum of 6 people per site. Provide your own tent and camping equipment, caravan or motor home.
Activities & Facilities
Guided bush walks and safari game drives are operated from Orpen Rest Camp, all under the supervision of well informed and keen professional field guides.
Important to note: Children under the age of six years old are not permitted on the safari game vehicle and children under the age of twelve years old are restricted from guided bush walks.
Facilities at the camp include: Communal kitchen, ablution block and communal freezer No restaurant, shop or bank.

We do not take rest camp bookings. What our safari specialists do arrange is the private reserves of the Greater Kruger: private lodges where expert guiding, meals and game drives are included, and nothing is left to the camp kitchen. We look after international travellers and SADC residents alike, and many lodges offer reduced SADC rates.
